Have you ever gone out to the lake just to take a single photo? Ever sat through a downpour, waiting in the dry comfort of your car, just to rush into the rain, hoping reality matches imagination? That was my afternoon yesterday. If this isn’t zen, then I don’t know what is.

Two photos over a decade apart from Oats Peak on the Central California Coast.

Polaroid film has come a LONG way and I’m still proud to have been an Impossible Project Pioneer.

I’m not sure I would be where I am now without shooting that first pack of their beta film all those years ago.

AF has been providing FREE opportunities for film and analog photographs for over half a decade. Getting your work out in front of curators for FREE with NO SIGN UP REQUIRED is frankly insane. We may be the only outlet who does this. Don’t let another opportunity pass you by. GET IT DONE!

This view is incredible. Looking west from Oats Peak, California. Made with a Polaroid I-2 after hiking 1,500 of vert and bagging Mt. Valencia on the way.

I’m very impressed by how sharp the I-2 is. I need to use it more. Have you all shot with an I-2 yet? How do you like it compared to the sx70?

I inadvertently began a “project” last year when I began shooting Polaroid Reclaimed Blue film at Millerton Lake, CA. I just kept doing it, and now I have quite a few keepers. This one was just shot last week. It’s subtle, quiet, and just moody enough for me. What do you all think?

Blasphemy, I know - but I just shot my first roll of B&W in about a decade over the last few months. Which is your favorite? I’m still getting used to this 35mm rangefinder thing. But I’m sold!! Insanely easy to use and sharp as hell.

This one is REALLY great. I would be lying if said I didn’t love certain features or interviews more than others. This is one of them. If you read anything about photography today - spend time with this interview.

I wonder if there’s an artifact you could put in your images that’s invisible to human eyes that would mess up scrappers even if they obtained your images..

But as I’m watching everything unfold, I’m more convinced than ever that film and analog photography has a unique spot in all this chaos.

What do you all think about this? Do you think we will see an even greater resurgence as AI progresses? Curious to your thoughts. 2/2

Hey everyone, I’ve been feeling a bit on edge lately with all this AI talk—both at my day job and here at Analog Forever. It’s been a wild ride watching technology push boundaries at breakneck speed, and honestly, it’s made me worry about what’s next for real photography. 1/2

Dana Stirling‘s “Why Am I Sad” is such an amazing book! I just received my copy a few weeks ago and it’s 100% worth picking up. It asks important questions without the need for answers - just community driven open conversation on depression and creativity. 10/10. - MB

Book Review: "Why Am I Sad" by Dana Stirling | Analog Forever Magazine Can the complexity of mental health be captured in a photograph? Dana Stirling’s Why Am I Sad? uses vibrant imagery to unravel the duality of human emotion—playful surfaces and the shadows beneath.

Sometimes, a body of work doesn’t just speak to me—it sits with me, quietly, for days. Dana Stirling’s ”Why Am I Sad” does exactly that. It’s gentle yet unflinching, revealing a personal journey through analog photography. Check out my review here: www.analogforevermagazine.com/features-int...

These Polaroids are from Florence Lake, California at approximately 7300 Ft Elevation in Sept 2024. The Haze is from the Fires Further South that were ongoing at that time. I love these due to their subtleties. Beautiful and mysterious. What’s better?
