Please don't give up on the red states, America. Fight bad people, not geography.

Seeing all these feckless Democrats in Congress flailing and asking "what do you want me to do" and I keep thinking: bare minimum, I want you to have the energy of a 76-year-old John Lewis staging a sit-in on the floor of Congress in opposition to the inaction on gun violence after Pulse. MINIMUM.

I started spinning out today and I went for a walk and I felt better.
I am engaged in my communities in a number of different ways and it helps center me in the face of chaos, cruelty and buffoonery. Maybe the ship is going down-life is going to be more difficult especially for our vulnerable friends, family and neighbors-but mitigating dread is essential for the sake of long term sustainability. Figure out how you're gonna show up and make plans accordingly. If you don't, all you've got is your screen, the algorithms and hopelessness.
The entire history of humanity is defined by people being absolutely certain the end is imminent. Maybe! But hey. If that's the case, live and act and love accordingly.

I’m saying this here, in part, so I can hold myself accountable to following my own advice.

Don’t forget—especially in times like these—that the internet is a panic / dread inducing drug. Go for a walk. Read. Do something, literally anything. Times are precarious. Live, act and love accordingly.
