Glad you said it, they are useless. Most notably, Biawal Sidhu’s “ex Google engineer, recreates palantir to monitor Iran”.

Seems like they requested it. But I get your point. It’s kinda weird because Linus and 2 other staff are mods.

N7628 was just reserved for a Gulfstream G700. Looks like Musk will have a G800 and G700

The jet just started using PIA so it’s callsign is XAA “Rockfish ####” if we had really good ATC audio it would be interesting to identify pilot by voice.

Designators for Aircraft Operating Agencies, Aeronautical Authorities and Services (Doc 8585/215) The designators consist of:a) three-letter designators for use on the international aeronautical telecommunication service and for aircraft identification by air traffic control (ATC); andb) telephony designators for aircraft operating agencies and for authorities and services operating aircraft, which may be used as appropriate.Parts 1, 2 and 3 consist of encode and decode tables linking aircraft operating agencies, aeronautical authorities and services with their assigned ICAO three-letter and telephony designators. Addresses of government civil aviation authorities are listed in Part 4.

It’s 2026 and you still have to pay the ICAO 300$ each for the official list of airline operator codes and aircraft type codes.

I wish LiveATC.com would just modernize their stack. While it’s not custom hardware deployed or custom voice models. I think a new UI and backend would help a lot.

They advertise the free instance tier, but they never have enough allocations so you can’t create it. I just tried for the first time in December. There’s people talking about this online and there’s also GitHub scripts for auto claiming when when spots free up.
