If the hair on my head grew as fast as the hair on my chin, I’d be Rapunzel in a week.

How did you get one when you first moved there?

Just pop that bird back up in the air and head back home. 😹

Fun fact: a colored variety of Romeldale is known as CVM, aka the California Variegated Mutant. Poor mutant sheep, we still love you.

In my defense Romeldales were originally bred as a cross between Romney and Rambouillet so there are some similarities but still. It ain’t the same. Probably should have noticed a lot sooner that they were actually different fleeces.

I had previously stored both fleeces together but had moved them into different containers. One of the bins I left in the hall and my spouse helpfully moved it into the bedroom (a subtle “deal with your shit” message I’m sure). So the Romeldale was where the Romney had been yesterday. Sigh.

Completely different fleece. And yes, much dirtier because the Romney was coated (the sheep wore a series of jackets protecting the fibre) and the Romeldale was not. Both are lovely fleeces, but very different characteristics.

On the upside, I definitely noticed. I just couldn’t figure out why.

Yesterday I scoured 2 batches of fibre from a very nice Romney fleece. Today I thought I did batch 3. It looked and felt very different which was odd, but I chalked it up to the difference from wet to dry or maybe from a dirtier part of the sheep.

NO BECAUSE THATS THE ROMELDALE.

Oooh! Lemme know if you want me to try to make fibre out of it. Haha.

My yarrow and goldenrod seedlings are doing great, a couple of the indigo plants came up. The rest will be direct sown, especially the flax. Woooo flax!

I cut into my rooftop garden plot today, pulled most of the weeds, buried some wool, and removed the gigantic kale someone left behind. Now to buy some soil amendment and soon to start planting! Woot.

#Senakw in #Vancouver is offering rentals for occupancy later this year. Super great location with easy walk or roll to BC's 2 largest job centres, parks, ocean, beaches, shopping. Let's build a lot more of this, please.

…and bought.

Look, I’m scouring a fleece right now that DESERVES new sharp pointy things. My mini combs are amazing, but four pitch combs? They’re gonna be so great.

Just sent an inquiry to a well known local fibre prep tool maker about potentially buying $900 worth of sharp pointy things. I already have a few of their tools and they’re absolutely the best.

Impulse control? Never heard of it.

I am forever entertained by my professional reputation in different departments.

One department thinks I’m utterly brilliant.

Another department is terrified of me.

A third department thinks I’m utterly brilliant AND is terrified of me.

And sprinkles of people who hate my guts, I’m sure.

HOW DO THEY MANAGE TO WEIGH SO MUCH? She’s not a big cat at all but holy shit seventy thousand pounds of force on my arm.

5 days ago 0 0 1 0

Having a bad arm pain day, so I’ve been laying in bed with my arm stretched out straight in the one pose that doesn’t aggravate my elbow. So of course my cat decided to stand on my arm, somehow forcing her entire 7lb body into 40lbs of directed pressure.

Cats are magic (derogatory)

What I like, as someone who likes romance as a genre:
- by definition, romance has a Happily Ever After (or at least For Now). There’s safety in that, especially when the world is burning.
- it’s a queer story where the conflict is more internal than external
- minimal hockey
- those butts. Damn.

Ah, welcome to my hell.

It’s been four months I still can’t stop thinking about it. Don’t get me started on the fanfic.

The Birds. Stand By Me. Thelma and Louise.

Mom made me leave the room during the first graphic scene for that one. But I got to come back and watch their crime spree!
