This is very funny, and not wrong. Professionally I am 68% on the way to being replaced by AI. Luckily I have already tapped out.

Just have to brag on my son for a sec, who will be heading to the UK to get his Master's (MPhil) at Cambridge this fall.
If any of you have kids that want (?) a tutor in Latin or Ancient Greek (or to a lesser extent Italian or French), have I got a lead for you.
Then I'm going to try automating it creating universal link (on Parachord) and drafting social media posts on all major platforms for me to the morning of release day.
Looks promising.
I'm currently watching Claude Cowork register my new song with SoundExchange as part of my 20-ish step new release workflow.
Next up I'm going to have it register with BMI, then go back and fetch ISRC and UPC from Distrokid and ISWC from BMI before then registering at SoundExchange and the MLC.
For Mac users: the Parachord extension is now live in the Raycast store.

Shuffleupagus now has the ability to directly access and modify your playlists (via your preferred AI plug-in).
Also a bunch of bug fixes and performance improvements with Apple Music and Spotify auth, sync and artist lookups.
0.9.0-beta.6 is now available.
I just ran my new song thru a real-time music genre classifier and it apparently bounces around from chiptune to alternative rock to dance pop to shoegaze to punk to folk metal. 🤷♂
To me it's got a sort of a late '80's/early '90s throwback vibe, and I am really into it. Coming the week of 4/6.
The new one is getting closer.

I've sort of been DDOSing myself by taking on way too many projects simultaneously lately — but on that note, today I rough-tracked and arranged my new song and I'm feeling really good about it at the moment.
Just pushed a new release with performance improvements, sync improvements, UI cleanup and more - including our first community contribution. 🙏

I liked the domain so much, I made the website.

I'm a sucker for sunset pics. These were tonight's.
Indeed (after getting CI/CD workflows set up at least).
I purposefully didn't bring my laptop on vacation, but for good or bad (probably bad) I have made decent progress on the Parachord Android app only using my phone while the family is sleeping.
I'll probably try to get out a build folks can try in a couple weeks.
Sitting by the pool and seeing a bunch of tree branches suddenly move and then hearing the louder-than-you-imagine roar of a howler monkey makes it feel like I'm in Jurassic Park tbh.
I'm working on it. 🙂
Parachord is “a new kind of music player that invites all your streams, local audio files, and playlists scattered across multiple services to the same party”. Interesting! [parachord.com]
If you have any follow up questions or comments on @parachord.bsky.social just let me know. 🙏
I was just asking ChatGPT to compare some grad schools my son is considering and it offered me its "candid parent-to-parent take". So there's that.
Yesterday we hiked Volcán Tenorio National Park and saw sloths and capuchin monkeys and a pit viper. Oh my.
Ah, thanks. I'm just at a vacation rental so not a big deal - it just confused me for a bit.
TIL @musicbrainz.org is not reachable from Costa Rica. I had to VPN to get it to load.
Indeed. @parachord.bsky.social is basically the illegitimate grandchild of Playdar.
Spotify pretty limited to their Connect API, which requires Spotify to be installed. Apple Music now actually provides a better experience - once you battle through the headaches of getting it working.
Thanks, let me know what you think (or what bugs you find). Cheers.
Help, I'm buying more domain names at 2 AM.
Nice! I've been playing with the idea of building an agent to do the grunt work of registering new releases, capturing identifiers, etc. I will definitely check this out.
Alright, I finally created a @parachord.bsky.social account to reduce the crossing of the streams a bit.
Follow if you're interested in some of the gory details of building a new-fangled music app that creates an interoperability layer across our increasingly fragmented music listening experiences.
Okay, Unstream 2.0 (the apps + extensions) are coming out now 🤘
Big change is that the apps are now fully *free* w/ optional donation. I've gotten some great feedback from some great people, and decided that this project is better suited for that model. #fairtrademusic #musicsky
