A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!

Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....

Tell me again how One Nation is the party of “real Australian values.” If this is what you want to be associated with be my guest but I want nothing to do with a political party that at every turn represents the worst of us.

How to get a decent public return from Australia's gas resources — A 25% export tax? Or something else? Cameron Murray explain how a scaled variable royalty does the job of a super-profits tax while avoiding the accounting trickery in order to share risk and get a better public return from resources.

Aus owns its gas yet we see little for it even in a boom. Profit-based taxes are easy to game & a 25% levy as proposed by David Pocock is too blunt. We prefer scaled royalties: higher when prices surge, lower when they fall Cameron Murray writes: www.prosper.org.au/2026/04/how-... #auspol

Trump & Netanyahu are the most dangerous persons on the planet. US policy in the Middle East is not driven by oil. It is driven by Netanyahu. And allies in the Gulf are paying a very heavy price for allowing US bases on their soil.

25% you say, Angus? 😱

There's a 78% tax on gas profits in Norway, and they're doing just fine. But I guess their political leaders aren't captured by oligarchs ... 🙄

Dr Richard Denniss dismantles the gas industry’s favorite threat.
If taxes kill investment, why is the gas industry rushing to Norway to pay 78%? 🙄

The gas ripoff. Japan collects more on our gas than we do - Michael West The Japanese Government makes more revenue taxing its imports of Australian gas than the Australian Government does from exporters.

So cowed by the foreign gas lobby .. the failure of successive govts is so epic that the Japanese tax *our* Australian gas more than we tax the foreign multinationals which export the stuff

This is One Nation’s ENTIRE health policy. Aside from 1 paragraph of whacky cooker crap & virtually no detail, there’s no commitment to Medicare or the PBS. Health is also 19th on their list of policy priorities

Share with family and friends who are thinking of voting for them

Where are the AUKUS nuclear waste costings (let alone the dump sites)? - Michael West Defence has to provide costings for before procurement is approved. Where are the AUKUS nuclear waste disposal costs?

At this rate, Australia will get to dump US & UK nuclear waste here under the AUKUS deal, get no submarines for $368B, and still not be told where they're dumping the waste or how much it will cost

You're hearing it more and more... it's time to tax gas exports!

More than 50 community organisations, including ACOSS and Oxfam, are calling for a 25% export tax.

Australians are fed up with the gas industry not paying its fair share.

Very clever! I hope it got stuck right in the craw of the #Christofascist #CristaFOOLI! And a 10/10 to the Irish nurse from my town who had placards -
“From the liver to the brie,”
“Globalise the insalata,” as reported in The Guardian. While humanity still has humour and wit, there is hope.
