Really pleased to share our methods paper - C-CARE the methodology underpinning No Barriers Here

Sharing this recent editorial again as the topic came up so much at @eapcvzw.bsky.social PHPC Research Conference in @UVic BC

Great news! Congratulations
The journey begins much earlier, I'm visiting Canada listening to palliative care and others in the system discuss track 1, track 2 and prepare for track 3 - this is where we will be in ten years or sooner, not within the confines of the current bill - we simply aren't ready as a system!
Agree! And mental health services, and gender-affirming care, and primary care, social care....every bit of the health system must be robust, compassionate and able to have nuanced, holistic assessment and discussion before we can begin to support assisted dying properly
Lots of people asking more about the 'No Barriers Here' @nobarriershere.bsky.social approach at @seos-uvic.bsky.social @eapcvzw.bsky.social

Call it what it is. Don’t like “woke”? That’s probably racism

Great to be in Victoria for the @eapcvzw.bsky.social public health palliative care reference group research seminar. This evening we are hearing the brilliant @waitingroomrev.bsky.social talking about their new book, Hope for the Best, Plan for the Rest.
Love him. #transisbeautiful
As we continue to challenge the inequities people experience within health and care systems, I’m delighted to see this powerful editorial from @jedjerwood.bsky.social published.
Here’s some key learning points and insights from the @nobarriershere.bsky.social project - 5 years on.
Thx 🙏 @jedjerwood.bsky.social and @gemmaallen.bsky.social for genuinely changing the way so many of us approach and reflect on health inequity in palliative care @nobarriershere.bsky.social.
Lessons for life here: “We must also be willing to share power, listen, slow down & do things differently.”
Really pleased to share this reflective editorial published today in Progress in Palliative Care

A vital read in @theguardian.com by @jamillahussain1.bsky.social on how the Assisted Dying Bill could impact minoritised communities.
An important perspective that must not be overlooked.

Hi only adults so far I'm afraid!
Was sent this article by @iwashyna.bsky.social by a trainee colleague after we diagnosed acute dying
I’d read it before, but the quote in the concluding paragraph still stuns
“A dying person needs to die like an exhausted person needs to sleep”

Arrived in a very sunny University of Oxford for a week of Knowledge into Action at the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine
Wonder if scurryfunging also applies to when hospitals receive royal or governmental visits and everything works for 3 or 4 hours...
Blimey!
