removed "torrenting" from the regex
no more bridgy fed
(sorry for not actively moderating the feed nowadays, that stuff is just so uninteresting and annoying to see that it killed the interest i had in reading through the feed. hopefully this helps)
probably gonna be banning more news outlets so that in conjunction with the above, we can hopefully get rid of the 100s of identical posts that go "did you know vpn torrent?????" every single time a streaming service raises their pricing
posts quoting feed-banned users, and replies in threads originally started by feed-banned users, are now ignored by the feed.
n.b. this was already the case for posts directly replying to banned users. these restrictions do not apply to replies/quotes by certified pirates.
i just lost interest over time, maybe since when i hit like 900-1k followers
it took me long to admit it to myself but i didn't derive joy from it anymore, so i got rid of it. not much more to it
i still moderate the feed once every few days lol i just have no reason to post on this account or check its following timeline anymore
yes??
hey what's up
posts with more than 50% of their length being facets (links or mentions) are now ignored from the piracy feed
i have a bias towards extension fields on existing lexicons because it allows firehose consumers to be more stateless (whether that's relevant depends on your case ofc)
but if you're editing records then yeah, sidecar, i'd consider breaking cid links enough of a problem to avoid the other approach
anyways yeah makes sense i'll keep the account up but like i do want to retire its usage as much as possible
fucked up that hashtags outside post content have been in the app.bsky.feed.post lexicon for all this time and they're still not part of social-app
where
went through a bunch of my early posts and i'm not really seeing it tbh
you'll want to interviewfor.red and then rank up to power user if you wanna join AB (which is much better than BBT)
@dreary.dev
why are people so obsessed with vpns as the single default censorship circumvention measure. this shit is bypassable with a ublock filter don't go paying some other random company just so they mitm your social media
i think "intentionally implement regional blocks as easy as possible to bypass" is as much opposition as you'll get tbh. pretty good track record on that front
hm sad
do you think one could get this merged into one of the default ublock lists lol
github.com/bluesky-social… added a new field to ipcc so you need another ublock filter
`||bsky.app/ipcc$replace=/(?<="countryCode":").+?(?=")/US/`
`||bsky.app/ipcc$replace=/(?<="isAgeRestrictedGeo":").+?(?=")/false/`
yeah, and feedgens need the same firehose as the appviews, so any attempt to disallow consumption of the firehose is an actual loss of feature even for users of the official bluesky app/pds/etc
let me be clearer i guess
if Bluesky PBC wants to make users of non-policy-compliant appviews (e.g. zeppelin) invisible their only option is to make all third-party-PDS users invisible (probably making all their engineers resign), because they cannot tell which users are using which appviews
...which is why zeppelin exists
not as far as i'm aware (which is why i was making the post)
i guess if you're on the PBC-hosted PDSes? but transferring a bsky-hosted account to another PDS is like trivial, i kind of assume anyone that cares about the censorship resistance of their account/timeline is on some third-party PDS
