Petition: Make the Tour de France a Category A event so it is free-to-air Make the Tour de France a Category A event to ensure it remains free-to-air in the UK.

Do you think it is reasonable that the Tour de France be a Category A sporting event so free to air in the UK? Because from next year it won’t be for the first time in decades and in 2027 the race even starts in Scotland and Yorkshire! Sign petition here:

And the Government becoming beaver fans, whilst laudable in itself, cannot diminish the risks to nature within the current Bill, as the anti bat and newt rhetoric demonstrates. But look, beavers!

Was at the London Wetland Centre yesterday. Sand martin nests being rediscovered and worked on furiously by dozens of birds. Magical on so many levels

I love this pic. Says everything about these magnificent birds, their ideal habitat, the strength of the pair bond - wonderful!

Bit of a pity then that those of us who have been following it on terrestrial TV in the UK for decades will be denied seeing it, unless we are prepared to cough up twice the price of an annual licence fee from 2026!

A playful illustrated title reads “How different birds would act on a first date." A disclaimer underneath states: “Not approved by RSPB fact-checkers.” The image features a cute Coal Tit perched sweetly on a blue flower. The background is a romantic shade of pink.

Today is World Waterfowl Day. Celebrate the ducks, geese and swans that grace our planet. Their wetland habitats are under threat from damage, destruction and pollution and what harms these wonderful birds, ultimately harms us all. waterfowlday.org #worldwaterfowlday

Ducks, geese and swans are wonderful birds. Often overlooked or taken for granted, many are at risk as their wetland habitats are damaged, destroyed and polluted. They are waterfowl and finally they have an annual World Day to themselves! Find out more www.waterfowlday.org

London is a busy, built up place for sure, but within a few hundred yards of Fulham's football ground, this view worked for me today. @wwtworldwide.bsky.social London Wetland Centre

Neither party may be ready for Single Market or Customs Union, but I suspect that there might be a majority among the rest of us if it improves the economic position of the UK. And with a large majority and an election years away, where is the Gov ambition now?
