Secret rating system kept parents in dark about safety fears at NSW childcare centre Case in which parents were not told centre was in the ‘very high risk’ cohort illustrates a glaring safety gap, critics argue

This is the same in aged care - national standards are disconnected from reality. I would argue that national standards be it child care , hospitals, aged care, are a failed regulatory model. They have been captured by business.

Thousands of Tesla SUVs recalled in Australia over software fault that ‘can increase risk of injury’ All 2025 Tesla Model Y variants affected by issue that risks window closing on body parts ‘with excessive force’

When is a recall not a recall? When it is fixed overnight with a software update?? Maybe the law needs to redefine some of these parameters???

Dont leave it to familes to have to break the law to show mistreatment of elders. Stop forcing people to be criminals when all they want is proper care provided with care. Start a CCTV trial just the same as in childcare!

National childcare worker register, CCTV trial and mobile phone ban declared in major Australian safety reform Jason Clare says CCTV trial at 300 centres to begin later this year and improved training regime rolled out in 2026

Can the same CCTV trail be run in aged care! Its the SAME. Highly vulnerable people and to much history of abuse. Get a trial going at the same time.

Today I rode my bike behind an electric bus for first time. No diesel fumes no black smoke. All I heard was sound of tires on the road. How far we have come in one generation.

Inquiry says at least 13 people took their life as a result of UK's Post Office scandal The inquiry also finds that hundreds of people were wrongly prosecuted and convicted of theft, fraud and false accounting due to incorrect data in an information technology system.

And if you get to the essence of why the government was finally brought kicking and screaming to the fact there was a problem. It was a movie! Thank goodness for creative arts - they make a difference!

Profit comes before safety inside Australia's childcare centres For those like me who have been investigating childcare for almost a year now, the news was horrifying but not a surprise.

Substitute the word childcare for agecare and reprint - ITS THE SAME!!

Its a TOTAL MISTAKE for profit and care to be in the same sentance.

Aged care should get the same. CCTV - global mandate. Protect our young and our elders - and people at risk. Yes, needs really controlled viewing (not left to organisations/businesses).

I never thought the day would come on a POTUS birthday I would be seeing a massed military parade with the leadership hidden behind 2inch thick bullet proof glass. This is not what I ever expected in the USA.

I am migrane person, less as I get older. I found double strength coffee, two pandadol and a LONG shower with hot water on neck and head was a winner. Interesting in other tricks.
