Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today to get through this thing called life
Electric word, life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here to tell you there's something else
The afterworld
A world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun
Day or night

Just a reminder that the books we call "children's books" are really books written for an audience that includes children, but excludes absolutely no-one at all. They are BOOKS FOR EVERYONE - and you can never, ever be too old to read them, and to love them!

We’re in finishing our basement to make it workspace for The Bookish Society. Eventually I’ll have rooms to podcast, teach, and store books. It’s a total mess right now, but it’s gonna be great! #kidlit

Welcome to the top of my ARC pile. All these titles release from April- June. I selected a middle grade sequel, a YA from an author I adore, a much anticipated adult fantasy title, and a couple nonfiction titles that interest me.
What looks good to you?

What I’m reading today: Siblings Jakob and Lizzie, armed with their love for puzzles, find themselves caught up in an extraordinary secret—a codebreaking factory filled with eccentric minds working tirelessly to crack the Nazis' Enigma cipher. 💡

No downtown adventure is truly complete without a book shopping spree! 🌇🛍️📚 I snagged "The Ministry of Time," "The Bletchley Riddle," "Impossible Creatures," and "Let it Glow"—all captivating reads I couldn’t resist. 📖✨

Happy reading, everyone! 📖💖"

Fun fact: “jólabókaflóð" (the Christmas book flood) does not refer to an Icelandic Christmas tradition of giving books as Christmas gifts and reading them while eating chocolate on Christmas eve. It's a term used to describe how publishers hold off until December to release books.

Hi! As an award-winning, New York Times bestselling author, and a professional writer of 30+ years, let me remind you of this today:

If you write, you're a writer.

No other qualification necessary or needed. You write, you're a writer. Do it as it suits you. Have fun if you can.

Enjoy your day!
