Yes I'm personally the same for most of my stuff on social media if credited (tho prefer reshare), it was not in reference to this scenario at all. Just regarding the statement content posted public online is free, since it's been normalized & causes these kinds of problems in the first place.
Just want to add for clarity, it technically is not okay to use someone's photo posted on a public site. It still has copyright attached unless the person licenses it public domain or CC-O. Just don't want to normalize this idea. Sorry your photo was taken.
