Website for Philly Paws. Top banner says: OUR GRAYS FERRY LOCATION IS CLOSED TODAY (THURSDAY, APRIL 9). WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

Main page says: Grays Ferry update: safe evacuation and temporary closure. In light of the tragic construction collapse next door to PAWS' Grays Ferry shelter/clinic, all animals have been safely evacuated from the building and our Grays Ferry Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic is closed today, Thursday, April 9, and will remain closed until the area Is deemed safe. You can help by adopting a cat from PAWS' Old City location, which is now full to capacity with evacuated cats, or by signing up to foster.

I’m sure you get requests to boost stuff all the time, but @catsofyore.bsky.social a Philly shelter had to suddenly close due to a building collapse. They still need foster homes for the evacuated cats. phillypaws.org

I predicted someone like Trump many years ago, in THE DEAD ZONE. So now I'm saying this--in the next 12-16 months, we're going to find out if the two machines for the removal of a man unable to fulfill his duties actually work. They are impeachment and the 25th amendment. He is deeply unwell .

I've gotten an increasingly hardline on more or less this type of response.

The election had two outcomes. Any action that wasn't pro-Harris was pro-Trump. I don't care if you voted third party or didn't vote or whatever. You were pro-Trump, full stop.

I used to get a tub of frozen strawberries in syrup, let them thaw in the fridge, then mix them with cottage cheese to quell ice cream cravings. Probably the same amount of sugar, ultimately, but it felt more virtuous.

My grocery stores no longer carry frozen strawberries in syrup 😩

Now that I've read the piece...

There's a reason the vast majority of my social media experience is a single Discord server that selects for a shared interest in cats and curates kindness, gentleness, and understanding through its moderation choices. You can join me there

when I talk about getting weirder, I also mean not being afraid to share when you *are* excited for stuff! I don't care how odd you may think it is!

Understandable! I know the conductors and staff at Amtrak can be very helpful with mobility challenges but rail can mean a lot of steps for reasons I can't quite fathom.

The adjustment to which I refer is the sensation of wind on one's bottom. I have no complaints about cleaniness

Every part of the lily plant is deadly to cats - even drinking water that lilies were sitting in can kill them. Other popular spring flowers like tulips and daffodils can also make them very sick, but there are plenty of beautiful and safe alternatives.

I vote rail but the bathrooms (at least on the Amtrak from Albany to Moynihan Station) are an adjustment

Why are politicians still focused on trans kids in sports?
Why are politicians still focused on trans kids in sports? YouTube video by Adam Conover

@adamconover.net saying what I've been saying for a year now. You can support us AND be insulted that our presense in society is being touted as an issue when we're on the verge of WWIII and playing the role of the fucking Nazis!

Please read and share. The “grassroots” support for the SAVE America Act is a lie. The campaign pushing this bill is being run by Cleta Mitchell and Scott Presler, two of the most notorious election deniers in the country.

No book is going to turn kids into someone else. But books will regularly show kids other people like them and show those kids they're not alone. And they'll show kids other types of people who also exist. There is a large proportion of the population who are terrified of this.

These are the photos that Hegseth says were “unflattering” of himself from his March 2nd press conference at the Pentagon.

The photographers are now banned from the building.

Well.

The fact that Hegseth feels the need to attack the press after every question shows how deeply insecure and unhinged he is. His TV studio with soft lighting, his makeup, hype videos, barring photographers from briefings - his sole obsession is how he is portrayed to the public.

If the government really is worried about Iranian sleeper cells, then it was probably a mistake to systematically reorient the majority of US counterterror resources toward arresting immigrant grandmothers and five-year-olds in bunny hats

Was watching a livestream of the Mamdani election party. I assume the sound is off bc different news network streaming on the big screen, but it was still a delight seeing all those hands go up in celebration when it was called for Zohran. So happy for NYC

Democrats think Republican voters are stupid? Republicans are SURE their voters will forget about their candidate lying through his teeth all campaign and that they did nothing to mitigate the harm his policies are already causing those same voters by next November

The description of Cloak and Romper from the DAWS website. It has a photo of the two cats to the left and lists their names, Cloak and Romper, at the top, along with the following words: cat, young, female, medium, american shorthair, house trained, shots current, spayed/neutered.

(I will note that only one of these, Cloak, is female, the other, Romper, is male.)

The description itself reads:
This bonded pair of gorgeous kitties is Cloak and Romper. Cloak is 18-months-old and Romper is 8-months-old. Cloak is Romper's mama and they love each other so much that they are looking for a forever home together. Both kitties are a little shy but once you take your time with them, they are very sweet and enjoy pets. And they love their wet food! Cloak and Romper are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and healthy. The total adoption fee for the pair is $175. If you would like to meet/adopt Cloak and Romper, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms or stop by at our shelter Wednesday-Sunday between 12 and 6 PM. The DAWS shelter address is 147 Grassy Plain St. Email daws@daws.org with questions or for more assistance.

A photo of Romper and Cloak.

Romper, to the left, is a black and white tuxedo male. His yellow eyes are bright and interested as he stares directly into the camera. He looks like he might pounce on a toy any second.

Cloak, to the right, is a black female. She has a little white spot high on her chest just under her neck. Both of her front legs still show shaved areas as she has only recently been spayed. Cloak is looking just up and to the right of the photographer, her yellow eyes wide open and a little wary.

Cloak and Romper are a shy couple and will need a patient human and quiet environment. They would probably love a WFH person and would do fine in either an apartment or a house.

Danbury, CT: I am pleased to be able to provide this update on Cloak and Romper. DAWS has now seen what we all knew already. They are a bonded pair. They have also updated photos.

Please help Cloak and Romper find a new home by sharing this information. Thank you.

The Minnesota assassin appears to be a hate-filled right winger. So can we stop walking on eggshells about MAGA's legitimization of political violence?

Yes, Republicans have also been the target of inexcusable violence, but this isn't a "both sides" issue.

1/ A🧵on the danger.

I would just like to convey my sheer delight in another ND person enjoying Seanan's works. I read much of her publishing debut in an autograph line at DragonCon and have been fixated ever since. You have SO MUCH ahead of you to enjoy!
