Oh, you're right! It's caused by the "Wipr Extra" extension, part of Wipr 2: kaylees.site/wipr2.html
It results in an almost blank page, with just this guy all by himself:

Hi Elle, your (wonderful) homepage stopped working in Safari on Mac a little while ago. For some reason, the javascript doesn't run, so neither day nor night are shown. I found I could get it to work by removing the try{} wrappers in the "bookmarks" and "blogroll" sections. No idea why.

At first, I thought you meant a divide between UIs where time-on-site goes down (AI tools that minimize human input) or goes up (clickbait, attention hacking, etc).

Sherry Turkle's book "Simulation and its Discontents" is a good longitudinal study of what changed (good and bad) as several professions adopted faith-based computing.

It's easy to mock that article, but for most people who don't habitually decap their chips, computers are indeed unknowably-complex black boxes that must be taken on faith, and for a generation who grew up with transparent, fully-understandable tools, that was a great loss. I'm very sympathetic.

Nice ones can be reused for projects. We made a board game for a friend's wedding, packaged in a former iPad box.

Dynamic drafting paper - Dynamicland archive

Toby had started on a 2D version of a similar idea, a while back. Sketch a CAD drawing on paper, draw constraint annotations, it reprints the drawing with constraints applied, repeat. dynamicland.org/archive/2015...

succession of responses:
1. "Why can't you just edit the editor?"
2. "Maybe that's an obnoxious response."
3. "But isn't that what's actually ludicrous about this situation?"
4. "Especially because, when *I* edit the editor, I'm editing *your* editor."
