I've always been big on running back to level up if I have enough (or close to enough) echoes/souls. Then the runs become a bit easier each time, and it feels less like a waste and more like a training montage.
It's remarkable how many skills can come from working in a corporate environment! I used to hate on my desk job, now I'm super thankful.
Project and timeline management, organizational skills, working with various teams and people. It's surprisingly translatable to gamedev

Christmas gaming memory: Watching my brother and cousins hook up a single N64 to two separate TVs, covering half of each screen with cardboard, and playing Goldeneye team scenarios without the ability to cheat.
