The Conjuring: Last Rites - follows the same formula, but was not entirely predictable. I enjoyed it, greatly. But I live near the town where it's set. The background images were not believable and the house was bigger on the inside. Though, it was a fun ride.

We watched the 'final' Downton movie with some free Fandango credits. It's what people wanted, apparently. It ties things up in a nice bow. The best part is Edith calling out Mary for being a tramp. And then she 'saves the day' for the family.

Life is not lived forward, that's a direction we look. Just as driving a car needs attention forward and around you. But, ignoring the past is as just as dangerous, because:
LIFE is lived, through the NOW
The only decision we have full control over is how we react in the now.
How about another Halloween themed short story? This one is 'inspired' by actual events (to a point). The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

I finally watched Caddo Lake and I'm not disappointed. Interesting story that plays with cause and effect in a thoughtful way.
That's as much as I can say without spoiling it. If you haven't seen the movie and want to, stay clear of the replies.

Downtown Berwick PA from a perspective new to me.
I went for a walk with Gracie this morning.
This was how the day started. Thankfully, it was not an omen of things to come.
It's a fair cop
We're patient. We'll be here.
Use a#StarTrek meme to describe how you feel.
The original still holds up, but I'm interested to see how they update it

Would a "Your Vote Counts in Pennsylvania" PSA help? To show how the system works.
Shown after the local news, available online, on socials, etc.
Would people trust it?
The most common issues we had were 'inactive so long they were dropped from the rolls' and 'wrong location.'

Um, yeah, I'm sticking with that order.
The air grows crisp. The winds begin to howl. Halloween approacheth. A perfect time to curl up with a copy of my Eldritch Horror novel, The Kirklyn Horror.
Available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other sellers: darkfirepress.com/books/kirklynhorror.php

It was a good visit. Relaxing (except for Friday) and an overall good show. Good food, good friends, great art!
Glad it was a good show. I wish everyone I talked with said the same thing.
It's an honour getting to see my novel displayed in glass at Bad Kerry Studios.
It's my best work, if I may say so. You can get it on B&N, Amazon, and other sellers. (*bewbs not included)
@waywardraven.bsky.social just launched a Kickstarter for a new project. I decided to back because it's alt-history, a favorite genre of mine.
Yep. I have August 3rd on my calendar. I'll be there if I can.
It's going to be an interesting Fall, leading into November. I had someone tell me to make sure I'm safe working the Polls. It's been stressful sometimes, but I don't think I've ever felt unsafe.
When I think of 'hillbillies from Appalachia,' I do not think of East-Central Pennsylvania. Definitely not Columbia County. We've got 'coal crackers,' in our area.

Getting ready for the eclipse
It's what hooked me on Benson and Moorhead. Their work on Loki and Archive 81 was amazing.
