I saw a disclaimer in an ebook the other day that said, 'This book is 100% human generated. I'd rather write a story that might have lumpy bits than generate a soulless, passionless, piece of crap." I'm thinking of adding something like that to my next book if I ever get around to writing it.

Those sleeve notes were like being a part of a secret note passing chain where reading felt revolutionary, because it was. They brought the revolution to this little goth grunge teen living in an area where I was rarely exposed to Black history or culture.

Knowledge is power though. Among the many reasons to love Public Enemy was for the sleeve notes that advised people on stuff to read and the value of education. Nothing more dangerous than an informed society. There are people out there who want the hands on the clock to run backwards.

Don't think of trauma recovery as just responding to symptoms. It's also-- & more importantly-- about getting clear & realistic about our needs & nurturing our relationship w/ ourselves.

To me real trauma recovery is about life development & goal achievement, not just "coping."

OPM Prioritizes Prevention and Wellness in FEHB and PSHB Programs Welcome to opm.gov

April has been a double-whammy attack on transgender federal employees.

Buried in the OPM news release regarding their healthcare policy letter for 2027 is a link to the actual letter telling carriers to discontinue all gender affirming ("sex rejection") healthcare except counseling.

Interested in better understanding your trans neighbors and friends? I’ll be speaking on a panel this Friday at Westwood House, 6-8 p.m.! The other panelists are sincerely wonderful, and I understand some people find my words and thoughts acceptable, even interesting!

I can't lie. I'd have a long list, I like things that make life soft, pretty, and beautiful. (I agree on the commercial grade kitchen, fancy soaps, and first class.) But I also like a lot of simple things too.

April 15 - The American Federation of Teachers is Founded On this day in Labor History the year was 1916. That was day that the American Federation of Teachers was founded at a meeting at the City Club in downtown Chicago. Three Chicago teachers groups helped to organize the meeting. They were convinced that in order to improve working conditions for teachers they would need to formally join the labor movement.

What I Saw at a Maternity Ward in Kenya After the U.S. Cut Off Food and Foreign Aid Photographs tell a story of two mothers determined to help their babies gain enough weight to leave the hospital — only to face little to no food again.

A maternity ward doctor donated his own blood during surgery to keep a pregnant patient alive.

One woman gained fewer than 10 pounds over her entire pregnancy.

Another collapsed and had seizures during labor.

At a time when the Catholic Church breaks from its scandalous past of pedophilia and fascism, American MAGA Catholics like JD Vance break from the Pope to support pedophiles and fascists.

What helps me stay motivated in my spiritual practice is my focus on nourishment and growth. I don't do unnecessary and tiring "busy work;" every spell, ritual, and routine contributes by either aiding in my spiritual evolution or nourishing me, my relationships, and my community along the way
