Applique is the process of stitching something to a background fabric. It will take about an hour to finish these. It also took about 40 minutes to handcut them.

If you had told me I was going to fall in love with vinyl, I would have laughed in your face. I'm actively designing new organizers. The top/front is fabric. The interior is vinyl print on top of a fabric backing. I am in love!

I've started my favorite landscape, the Dragonscape, my DragonCon theme. When finished, it will feature the red & blue dragons with that very special carpet fabric & hand painted gold stars. 19"x22"with roughly 18 more hours of design time and sewing remain. Creative juices flow!
The trees continue to grow as I add strips of fabric within them. The next step will be to free motion quilting hundreds of smaller limbs and adding sparkling Angelina fiber.

I've been building up a nice sized stash of vinyl over the last few months, as I prepare to start my new line of practical organizers, zipper pouches and a few other surprises. I'll be pausing for a while, so I can dig in and finished my taxes. That's the life of a one Geek shop!
I held onto a 1st generation landscape and now I can compare my skill development and evolution. They have come so far after some 6ish years. I've added additional layers and reflective fibers and broadened the backgrounds and created new themes.
The trees are growing! I have changed out some of the backgrounds and some of the tree fabric textures. I have cut, shaped and pinned Individual limbs. They'll stitched into place next. By the time these 4 are finished, I will have spent between 16-20 hours on each.

Spring is about to get sprung! As I enter my 7th fantastic year, I find myself on both the UGA and Georgia Tech campuses, along with my 4th appearance at the Inman Park Festival.
I picked up my first load of frame lumber this morning! I'm preparing for 3 Atlanta area two day festivals and 1 in Athens between April and May, along with a few single day events. I do build the frames for every piece of artwork- be it fabric or acrylic mixed media.
Every new landscape begins with selecting the fabric pallets. Every tree is hand-cut, trimmed and shaped. Thread colors will be picked and them they'll be stitched into place. I'm designing these for MultiversCon later this year.

My Guardian Snails are now arriving. Molded air dry clay that have been painted with a spiral fabric shell that has been hand sewn onto the snail's body.

I acquired a pricey imported Japanese elastic that I've used to create Emotional Support Chickens. There will only be 7.
I'm about to start working on two new Rainbow Doodles. They'll be acrylic painted, then quilted along still out the lines. The last step will be building the frames.
