Very smart, i need to try it too, otherwise i dont do my personal projects outside of work stuff
By the way, i have a personal discord server for artists/gamedevs/creatives. You can come post your work, ask for feedback, or just hang around. discord.gg/4ztfr86hND
Oh yeah, i finished this one a few years ago, i was also quite impressed by the tiles and stuff, its very efficient, but super cool!
Wait, what is this challenge? You do 30mins of dev every day no matter what? Sounds kinda cool
A bit of a plug, i have a friend from Latvia who does pixelart, and he would like for you to check out his website, maybe it resonates with some of you and you need a pixelartist for a game, feel free to reach out to him. www.karliszabers.com

Hey #PortfolioDay! I'm Anders and I make art for games. Big fan of retro aesthetics 🟦 fluffy vegetation 🥬 and squiggly trees 🌳
Much thanks!
Thanks a lot, glad you like it!

Pushed something your way, maybe it works out.
LOVE
couple maps, been working myself to the bone... it looks so much better in motion, I promise!
It's so hard to not just post everything I've been working on, trying to be a good boy
Yeah, i think it stems from those ocassions when someone is redrawing a photo 1 to 1, and the end result is basically just like a photo, with not much of your own essence put in, so a lot of people see beginners do this especially, and then think that's basically all that drawing from reference is.
Yeah for sure, i feel like it sorta comes from ignorance a bit. I can see people who are just starting or dont even do art, who think that the most.
truuuue 😅
I love how you sometimes notice 2 very distinct sides of artists - ones where they dont like using references and feel its cheating, and ones who never even knew you can draw without reference.
Well, quick example, even though this is not the best example. youtu.be/AzoogEK93xs?... From timestamp 3:19 looking how the big guy moves. Its really good animation, but its sorta giving disney vibes. To me it doesnt match with the vibe. But as I said it's a pet peeve lol, very small thing usually.
That might be part of the same thing yeah
Yeah! It def seems like a dark messiah inspired game
That said thouhg, it still looks really nice, and seems like my type of game, but it just always sticks out to me lol
ah i watched the new one, tbh i havent seen anything aobut this game besides the trailer haha
um, im sorta making a too big deal out of a small pet peeve, since it still looks good in general. But it's kinda like it feels it's too well animated, Like i recently noticed it in alkahest trailer and lords of the fallen 2. When a big angry creature moves in this disney like manner, it feels weird.
it's like its too well animated. Especially noticeable in bigger creatures in lords of the fallen 2 for example, or in alkahest trailer when the guy crawls in the beginning, its just so snappy and smooth,
