Well you are still wrong. That bill was bad.

I’ve lost track of how many times something just like this has happened. The rules seem to be that you can say Congress certified the election, but not that Joe Biden won it
Anat Rubin and I co-wrote a story for @calmatters.org about the people behind Sheriff Chad Bianco's "election investigation" -- sovereign citizens, Christian nationalists, and "constitutional sheriffs."

In both foreign policy and economic policy, the core belief of Trumpism is that there is some button one can press to instantly and easily solve any problem, and every political leader this country has ever had was simply too cowardly to press it. That’s it.
It's pedantic and not important but it bugs me so much they keep saying the DoD was previously the War Department. That was the old name for the Department of the Army! There was no unified military cabinet-level department until '47!
I would simply not have sat in a trench in France for four years, I would have charged across that no man's land and right into the enemy's trenches. Easy!
me, I would simply have taken Stalingrad, not laid siege to it. hell, the boys would start at noon on 12/23 and all be home by Christmas eve
That bill was a right-wing bill though that was deeply punitive. A large part of democrats and independents hated it.
Also, THAT BILL WAS BAD! It was a pretty right-wing bill!
The thing about that Washington painting behind him:
“Washington wanted to make sure that his troops were not affected by disease, and he believed that inoculation would help with that. So, just before this letter was written, Washington created a mandated system of inoculating his soldiers.”
Odd thing here: he cites religious objections, but appears to be limiting this to the flu vaccine in particular.
Religious objections to vaccination were actually relatively rare pre-COVID, but have grown since the pandemic.
But I'm unaware of religious objections to *only* flu vaccines?
Every sailor or Marine who has ever done sea time knows intimately how stupid this is
Joe, would you say it's always a good thing to go camping in the woods with 10,000 of your fellow soldiers?
If there is one thing that strengthens any military it is falling victim to easily preventable diseases
Ah yes, the military, the place famously known for its members exhibiting personal freedom.
Doing this video with a painting of Washington in the background is a level of irony that even he’d probably cross the Delaware again just to get away from
This move is so completely bizarre. Like even in the most gym bro science tough guy brain, was getting the flu shot hurting "lethality" or something? No! This is so random. I mean, fits the anti-science bent of this administration but....what?
everyone with real American manliness and a basic knowledge of military history knows that serious war efforts have never been derailed by such trifling matters as "communicable diseases"
It should be noted that Bovino is actually describing mass ethnic cleansing, not mass deportations.
One of the things you see a lot of when you read up on military history is that prior to, oh, let's say WW1 and better hygiene/vaccines, most military losses were from disease and not combat. So many died.
Anyway, time to take a big sip of water and read the latest news from the Pentagon.
reducing vaccine requirements and cutting rations to gruel, is, well, it's attempting to recreate the conditions of the old Department of War (readiness levels depleted from sickness and malnutrition).
Tweet by “Secretary of War” Pete Hegseth: “The War Department is once again restoring freedom to our Joint Force. We are discarding the mandatory flu vaccine requirement, effective immediately.” Below there is a video of the announcement for his many, many illiterate fans
Behind Hegseth’s big stupid face, a painting can be seen.
The painting is of George Washington crossing the Delaware. It is by Emanuel Leutze.
An article from the National Parks Service: Smallpox, Inoculation, and the Revolutionary War Boston National Historical Park During the 1700s, smallpox raged through the American colonies and the Continental Army. Smallpox impacted the Continental Army severely during the Revolutionary War, so much so that George Washington mandated inoculation for all Continental soldiers in 1777. Just fifty-six years earlier, in 1721, Bostonian doctors and clergy introduced the procedure to the American colonies. Without the vision and determination of these early Bostonians in normalizing inoculation, Washington may not have made the decision to mandate inoculation for the Continental Army. Though it was a controversial action, many historians credit the medical mandate with the colonists' victory in the Revolutionary War and the creation of the United States of America.
The words "North Carolina," and "Missouri" do not appear in this piece of shit article.
Neither does the word "decade."
"Florida" and "Texas" appear in subordinate clauses, after words like "After Virginia ..." and "Gov. Gavin Newsom of California framed ..."

I hate how much this makes me giggle.
I will always laugh at this youtu.be/CX9XrZ9wvVA?...
You beat me to it.
Trump: Operation Midnight Hammer was a complete and total obliteration of the Nuclear Dust sites in Iran. Therefore, digging it out will be a long and difficult process. Fake News CNN, and other corrupt Media Networks and Platforms, fail to give our great aviators the credit they deserve - Always trying to demean and belittle - LOSERS!!! 11 ReTruths 42 Likes 4/20/26, 8:22 PM
We’re going to be in Iran for fucking years
Again: Jerusalem crosses are common in many Christian contexts. I’ve seen progressive Christians who have them as tattoos.
But like many symbols, context can alter their meaning — incidentally or on purpose.
E.g., Hegseth has the cross tattoo *and* one that reads “Deus Vult” — the crusader war cry
you'd be a hero remembered in song
