1. There are plenty of LVs that technically work but also suck. SLS is still deeply cursed
2. Commercial crew is about capsules, not LVs
3. Dragon, while not faultless, is a perfect capsule for shuttling crew around LEO
On the other hand, it's hard to look at this and think Iso didn't have the far superior way of shading gas clouds. The billowing suggests his work on the launch in Gundam 0080 OVA 01 much more than Anno's work in RSF.

One aspect of Anno's rocket launch cuts in Royal Space Force I don't mention in EXPLOSIONS! is that the steam and exhaust products are prob. referenced from a Shuttle launch. You see the same behavior here with SLS. Note the multiple different colors based on how the exhaust plumes interact
