My brilliant colleague in Sweden, @katkehl.bsky.social, has been doing truly groundbreaking work on the security and defence reframing of queer politics in recent decades that moves our understanding of it well beyond overused and overrated (because rather limited) framework of homonationalism.

Stonewall’s priorities moving away from gender self-ID to “veterans” is a textbook example of the what-the-fuck-ness of a world where national security and defence paradigms seem to have become the only way through which centrists can possibly conceive queer rights and politics.
