Good thing, just different.
This is a fantasic book.
I live in Arkansas. When I was a kid, you rarely saw an alligator in south Arkansas where I was born. Now they are everywhere. Same for bears.
Kill Call won The Tome Society Book Award. The list of fellow winners for 2026-2027 is humbling to say the least.
I wrote a review for @mariadongwrites.bsky.social banger of a horror novel. Big thanks to @netgalley.bsky.social for the ARC.
This is not a gigantic tour but it is MINE and I’m very excited to be visiting these places in support of THE NIGHT THAT FINDS US ALL. Especially stoked to be chatting with @cshumble.bsky.social who is a great dude in addition to being one of the most talented young writers coming up in the world!
Tis true.
Had a good day at Little Rock’s @barnesandnoble.com with @tlsimpson.bsky.social and @johnhornor.bsky.social and many others. John and Travis are good people.
On August 31st, one of my favorite places turns 30, and I’ve been invited to be part of the celebration.
2006 Jeff, browsing the thriller aisle, is in shock.

Happy Book Birthday!
This Saturday if you're in the Tulsa area!
“A billionaire stole my book to teach a machine to replace me” wasn’t on my publishing bingo card.
Im old enough to remember when U2 gave us all a free album. I’m also old enough to not know how to get rid of it.
I’m off work today and have been writing. How nice to do this during the usual workday. Lots of words put down and lots of bacon eaten.
Air fryer bacon is **chef’s kiss** just be aware of the cleanup!
In the late 90s when I decided to start writing, I didn’t have a computer, a word processor, or a typewriter. I wrote everything out by hand. Everything. I found one of my old notebooks today. Takes me back.

DON’T STOP!
Hard to believe I've been a published author for a year. Happy Paperback Day to Kill Call! #Booksky
Have I ever mentioned my love for libraries? Yes. Yes I have. @oklibs.bsky.social @btpubservices.bsky.social www.oklibs.org/page/HighSch...
Not going to lie. This kind of made my day.
The thing I dislike most about querying is that it zaps my energy for writing. #Booksky
I just want to write. That's what I love.
Ever once in a while I wonder if those two people in Escape (The Piña Colada Song) are still together.
But maybe this helped someone. A lot of y'all already know this stuff, but at one time, I sure didn’t. Writing can be lonely sometimes--especially when you get a rejection or, even worse, silence.

If I don't get an agent, you know what I'm gong to do? Keep writing. Because that's what writers do.
At heart I'm an introvert and saying all this made me feel like I just did a lap around my block naked. I'd much rather write than query or market or post on social media.

My book is a post-apocalyptic YA thriller. It's blend genres but it's about loving your family and doing whatever you have to do to keep them safe.
I've had 3 request so far and 12 rejections. That's the best starting ratio I've had in 4 tries. Doesn't mean I'll get signed by an agent.
