I'm so sad this was canceled π
Not. At. All.
At least the book was appropriate. It's about the horror genre and America as an empire.
We should bring back these lost pronouns, partly because they are cool, and partly to annoy the TERFs (bonus point to the article for mentioning Chaucerβs use of the singular βtheyβ).

Things i enjoy: a book I ordered coming in at my local indie bookstore
Things i do not enjoy: picking it up on the way to the ER bc bodies are bodying. I'm already upset about the state of the world. I need my body to not fall apart as the world does.
@zuyadragon.bsky.social lookit
Ooo i LOVED but not too bold
One of my favorite things of the year is @therandoawards.bsky.social selection. The titles, the books, the joy. It's so fun.
Because I can't help myself re: schooling, I've started a post gradcertificate in Digital Health this week. There are some pretty cool people there.
An amazing feed tbh
π love these vampire π¦
Attended via Zoom an amazing talk by @carlbergstrom.com on peer reviewing in academic journals. Thanks to Otago's public health department!
Watching Star Trek for academic purposes just might be the best way to spend a rainy day or three. Hot chocolate or tea is a must.
Finished earlier today: Book of the Unnamed Midwife by Ellison
Also working on Cunning Folk: Life in the Era of Practical Magic by Tabitha Stanmore
Oh, I am so excited to read this!
I'm completely fascinated by this
Hydropotes inermis
It is my favorite planet, tbh. Several of my favorite stories in the past couple months are set there.
THREAD: Viral misinformation on US capture of Nicolas Maduro - 4 January
This video, shared by Alex Jones and others, falsely claims to show millions of Venezuelans in Caracas celebrating Maduro's capture.
In fact, it shows anti-Maduro protests in July 2024 over a highly disputed election.
Every day I'm glad I left Twitter
A gorgeous fairy tale poem and a discussion about writing in English and Finnish with Sara Norja! www.juliarios.com/in-winter-a-...

*painfully refreshing impatiently*
Would the public be able to read it? Asking for a friend... π
Also my cat likes the paper it was wrapped in. Already, it is shredded and he looks like a proud hunter.
Ugh I am TIRED so hat should be hag
#SecretSantaAoNZ thank you.
Card with two lobsters in the background. A red and pink cloth with salty sea bag written on it in black letters. Cute heart ornament made from i think felt (lol heartfelt). A bag of looseleaf tea.
The lobster card is ADORABLE and I love book recs. I am a salty sea hat, tyvm. The heartfelt ornament is already on the tree and I can't wait to taste the tea. I might use it to make tea soup (from a vegan Vietnamese cookbook I have).
