It was the ending of Birds Anonymous, a short that hit me particularly hard even as a kid because of my binge eating that had me like "Dude, what the fuck?"
"Once a bad ol' puddy tat, always a bad ol' puddy tat!"

To be fair, Judge Doom has a LOT less emphasis on the "comedically" part.
In all seriousness, I know I'm gonna love John Cena in this film, his size, the costuming, the camera angles, he looks like a comedically intimidating cartoon villain!
I didn't think I could give it any less benefit of the doubt than that trailer... but here we are!
It's astonishing how that trailer managed to completely upend any benefit of the doubt I was willing to give it.
The way I see it is if, somehow, it ends up bad after all that, it's putting some distance; if it's good, it's a decompression period for a year or two, with a comfort movie every Sunday either way.
Something about Coyote vs ACME finally coming out feels like the end of a prolonged adolescence; coming to terms with my changing relationship with writing, the corporate and socioeconomic reality of creativity, the "starving artist" thing being neither romantic nor practical.
And it'll be fun too!
I've honestly been thinking about, mostly for reasons of time and finances, dialing back on movies altogether for a bit after Coyote vs ACME. They'll always be there and there'll always be options, it's just that on top of wanting to finish my book, I don't want to be a ghost in my own life anymore.
It's initial canning started a major rethink for me on what I actually want creatively; life or writing, I can't just be directionless anymore, and that it's being released feels like the end of a prolonged adolescence in a way.
At the same time though, I still want it to be fun!
I already know I'm gonna love John Cena, his size, the costuming, the camera angles, he looks like a comedically intimidating cartoon villain.
Also some of the colour grading choices are pretty interesting, it looks almost like a 70s political thriller at times.
This would be gross even if I wasn't over music biopics.
Indeed.
It's just everything that's surrounded this movie since it's initial canning caused some real perspective taking on what I actually want creatively and out of life... but I also have to remind myself to have fun when I see it!
Everything surrounding this movie has given me a lot of perspective taking from what I want to be creatively, to give you an idea of just what this means... I actually got the Captain Morgan out for the trailer, and I NEVER do that for non-birthday or Christmas occasions, especially movie trailers.

I'd honestly be over music biopics even if the allegations weren't a thing.
Like, we know what they mean... but the wording though!
Is she some sort of touchy issue for the estate? I know I just said no thank you to the Beatles films, but even they're including Yoko Ono.
I'm not buying into the "she split them up" BS by the the way, just acknowledging that the issue is... a lot.
Me, trying to be normal
“Hollywood is ignoring these faith based movies!”
Yeah because they’re bad
Like end of sentence, that’s why they get overlooked
sorry, we're not lionizing a christian nationalist film studio just because it isn't hollywood

It's official, I'm the "Internet's FAVORITE lawyer" (emphasis mine). Can't be argued. It's just science. www.wired.com/story/the-bi...
Unless it's something out there and fun like Better Man, I'm over music biopics. The coming Beatles films, outside of being confident about the casting being perfect... no, four films released at the same time feels like too much of a commitment to SCHEDULE never mind watch!
Great lighting, it actually feels warm.
Unless it's something really out there like Better Man, I really am over music biopics; yes, that includes the coming Beatles films, I'm sure Dickinson, Mescal, Keoghan, and Quinn will be perfect, but even trying to schedule four films released at the same time feels like too much of a commitment!
If this was just after 7, I'd see where they're coming from, but people were speculating the diminishing returns by 2021, and I say this as someone who thought Hobbs and Shaw was enjoyable.
As someone who wasn't a music person growing up until the very beginning of YouTube, I'm of the opinion that discovery keeps us young... but it does kinda feel weird that I probably wouldn't have gotten this joke five years ago!
