The leaked memos confirm what we all knew: Big Oil effectively has the conservative Justices on retainer. This casts a disturbing pall over future cases affecting oil industry interests, including, most notably, Suncor.

👇🎯 Yes but it needs to go further:

- No shadow docket
- No clerks
- No building
- Riding the circuit

We can debate necessary structural reforms like more seats & such. But first, immediately, the next Congress needs to strip these Wizards In Robes of every perk & power not explicitly in Art. III.

The Inside Story of Five Days That Remade the Supreme Court

This is both

(1) some of the most important SCOTUS reporting ever, and

(2) far too generous to the Republican justices in framing of many pieces and omissions of Trump-era developments

An HBO documentary exposing “dark money” in American politics just earned an Emmy nomination.

It cites The Lever’s reporting — and credits us in the film.

This is the system we’ve been investigating for years.

“We are at a dangerous precipice, and it is now a matter of national security for Congress to fulfill its responsibilities under the 25th Amendment to protect the American people from an increasingly volatile and unstable situation."

Sunlight for Vampire Vought OMB Director Russell Vought has long avoided accountability for his role in the destruction of the federal government. The American people deserve answers.

OMB Director Russell Vought it set to testify before the House and Senate Budget Committees this week. For far too long, Vought has operated in the shadows as the chief architect of Trump's destruction of the federal government.

It's time to shine a light on Vampire Vought.🧵

To scholars of democratic backsliding, it is difficult to overstate how big a deal today's election in Hungary, a country of less than 10 million people, is likely to be as a narrative milestone for our age, regardless of which way it goes.

I'm not sure how you can be against removing this man from office right now. What will it take? A nuke being dropped? It's too late then. The purpose of impeachment and the 25th Amendment is to prevent that type of thing from happening, not just to react to it.

When the Nation’s Top Lawyer Treats Ethics as Optional How a decade of ethical evasion paved the way for Pam Bondi’s partisan performance

A few months ago, I broke down why Pam Bondi wasn’t facing disciplinary proceedings at the time. Given her termination, it’s worth taking another look. The short version: There’s nothing stopping these investigations now.
