If you want to stay informed about the Fronteers Belgium π§πͺ meetups, please follow @fronteersbelgium.bsky.social instead of this account π.
I'm currently switching careers so that means gradually less and less frontend- and design related stuff will be posted on this feed.
I have to admit, I was a little nervous before getting up on that stage again. π
After all, it had been more than a year since our last event.
Next up, we're looking at setting up shop in Antwerp. So, dear Antwerp peeps, please help spread the word that Fronteers is coming to town!
More info soon β¨
hahaha, maybe they were π
A compilation of pictures from the Fronteers Belgium community relaunch meetup on the 12th of March 2026 at Craftzing Ghent. At the center is a picture of futurama with cartoon figures excitedly cheering, followed by a "we're back, baby!"-quote.The other pictures show the general atmosphere of the meetup, with a lot of happy faces in the audience, guest speakers who passionately talk about their topic, and the winners of our celebratory raffle!
In case you're wondering how the Fronteers Belgium community relaunch π meetup went...
We're back, baby! π€ π
Photo of Claudia on stage. On the screen, the "we're back baby" meme from Futurama is shown.

Meisjes lopen voorop in sociale verandering β soms erg zichtbaar, veel vaker bijna onopgemerkt, schrijft Isabelle Verhaegen.

Through our recent Fronteers Belgium π§πͺ survey, we learned that most people still prefer to stay informed through newsletters.
So we thought we'd get a head start and already give you an option to join the waiting list, while we figure out which newsletter tool we'll be using.

Wonderful!
Been playing around creating my profile for the past hour or so. ^^
Would be nice if the big social icon feature would also recognise @pagebound.bsky.social :)
Zowel in Oostende als op Vlaams niveau worden de geesten al jaren gekneed om een trendy stadsdeel uit te breiden op een vernield beschermd cultuurhistorisch landschap. Met Jelske Antonissen door Oosteroever en de papierberg.

Definition of slop from Merriam Webster word of the year
Escape the slop in 2026 by joining Pagebound
Stop the slop! Pagebound is like if Goodreads & Reddit had a baby, but indie, anti-AI, and built by 2 women.
No AI features on Pagebound ever, no algos evenβjust kind humans discussing good books & you can feel the difference
Just so you know: if I ever have to show ID to access a social media platform I will simply not use that social media platform.
π£ Looking for some part-time work if anyone needs help with anything web, distributed tech, cryptography, etc.
Currently doing some protocol work for totemgrid.io, but while we wait for funding, I could really use some money.

pagebound is a book / reading tracker platform. The screenshot shows a colourful profile and a cute unicorn avatar, a list showing the covers of the books I like to read: - the storyteller by Evie Woods - Vera Wong's unsollicited advice for murderers by Jessie Q. Sutanto - How to solve your own murder by Kristen Perrin - The colour of magic by Terry Pratchett - A court of mist and fury by Sarah J. Maas And a list showing the covers of what I'm currently reading: - As good as dead by Holly Jackson - The Morrigan by Kim Curan
Discovered @pagebound.bsky.social earlier this week, an indie and anti-AI social book tracker.
I have been testing some goodread alternatives for a while now and always ended up returning... Hoping this one will do the trick! π¦
"They're trying to convince people they can't do the things they've been doing easily for years - to write emails, to write a presentation. Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies - to write that for you." We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, "that you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You won't know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you can't do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat. People are already doing this. You won't have to process grief, because you'll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways it's going to destroy humans, long before there's a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people." - author and filmmaker Justine Bateman from a piece by Emine Saner for the Guardian

I haven't been active on socials in a while, because my dad recently passed away and I have been having a tremendous hard time.
Ever since his cancer diagnosis about half a year ago, nothing has felt right. I pretty much just don't know what do do with myself atm.

2nd that.
Even though I barely use mastodon, (I don't enjoy using it) it also has a few features that are great and not available here.
Like f.e. restricting follow requests, excluding your profile and public posts from search results and excluding your profile and posts from discovery algorithms.
I was just saying the exact same thing to @tokono.ma a couple days ago.
