Yes, this... especially in a comic book world where everyone is essentially a Polymath

Been a while since I broke out this old standard:

🎢The concept of linear ranking of intelligence is not how intelligence works, and inherently eugeniiiiiic🎢

AdonisJS - JavaScript Devs, We Hear You Every year, the State of JavaScript survey asks developers what's broken. Every year, the same pain points rise to the top.

After really looking into the state-of-js survey for '25, If you confidently say "why is there no Laravel for JavaScript" you're purposely keeping your eyes shut, @adonisjs.com exists and isn't selling you a PaaS

Using MikroORM with AdonisJS | MikroORM This guide covers integrating MikroORM with AdonisJS, replacing the default Lucid ORM with MikroORM's Unit of Work and Identity Map patterns. For a complete working example, see the adonis-example-app...

AdonisJS comes with opinions, but your stack is still your choice.

Want to use MikroORM instead of Lucid?

Thanks to MikroORM, there's now an official guide on how to integrate it with AdonisJS πŸ‘‡

God thank you for saying this because even while trying to say "everything matters" it's very much "matters the way I interpret it" and those vibes were always off (I don't like when people try to rationalize Batmite)

I think I confidently say that without all the hype, NextJS is actually a poor framework for delivering absolutely anything. Not because it's bad but because it blurs the server client boundary among an already lackluster pool of developers

I didn't even know it was previously "Zavimbi". That's MUCH worse. I think maybe because of how familiar I am with the names people around me bear, I can almost tell when a name is designed to sound "African". And the cultural patterns.what's the most African thing,oh "Animals, one with land, mask"

To me it doesn't even seem random, it seems chosen to sound specifically African, almost hyper-african both names and where they're from. You hear "David Zavimbe" and know immediately this is the African character
And don't get me started on the art πŸ˜‚

This was an interesting article, especially as an African fan myself 'cause I wasn't completely sure of the countries of some of the characters listed.
I do think 'Africa Syndrome' extends beyond just considering all the countries in Africa as one and extends into character names too

Five-year-old me: Oooh, that Batman cartoon! What adventures will he go on today?

*the villain is left in tears, unable to process their fears and obsessions. And Batman, a looming presence born of the inability to rationalize terror, is the only one there to comfort them*

Me: Oh. Huh.
