I was honestly ready to just leave Jasper behind, but it’s been interesting to explore what that phone call would do to Poseidon.

She definitely won’t let her dad get away with any of his nonsense anymore.

That's all for this update! It took on a life of it's own because Posy kept autonomously thinking about Jasper (Wants, Think About Family Member, the Bucket List). It was so often that I couldn't ignore it even if I wanted. He will sadly come up again. Next one will be the wedding! Sneak Peak:

As Poseidon is walking out of the room, Daphne suddenly pulls him into a hug. Thea jumps up to join them.

D: "We are your family, okay?"

T: "And we will always be here for you."

P: "I love you."

T: "We love you too."

D: "Even when you have dumb ideas."

P: "I'm going to leave so you two can figure out how to handle me."

T: "Pos, this all comes from a place a love. We just don't want to see you get hurt."

P: "I know"

T: "Please don't do anything rash, okay?"

T: "I don't want to say never see him and then find out Pos went on his own."

Daphne wipes her eyes in frustration as she calms down.

D: "I have put more thought into that man in the past two days than I ever want to do again. Posy doesn't need your encouragement."

T: "That's not what I'm doing."

D: "Of course it's a bad sign! He's a lying, manipulative asshole that walked out on Mom, leaving her to raise three kids all on her own! Not to mention cheating on her! Why are we even still talking about him?!?"

T: "Are you crying?"

D: "No!"

P: "You really think it could be that bad?"

D: "Why are we still entertaining this idea?"

T: "In the few times I've see him recently, yeah I do think it could be that bad. I also find it interesting that he never mentioned anything about this to me."

P: "That does seem like a bad sign."

T: "I do think it's a bad idea, but if you're going to meet him, then I want to be there."

Pos/Daph: "What?"

T: "You should not go into that situation alone. He's not dangerous or anything, but you should have someone there to talk through his bs."

D: "This is not what we talked about."

After their scheming, they pull Poseidon into Daphne's room so they can talk while she gets ready. Thea lets him talk for a while before carefully bringing it up.

T: "So Daph mentioned that you talked about Dad."

P: "I knew you two were acting suspicious. I already heard why it's a bad idea."

T: "I need to sit down. I'm guessing your harsh approach didn't work."

D: "Hey! I tried to be gentle."

T: "Do you have a new plan?"

D: "I called you, didn't I?"

T: "Okay, tell me more about this conversation."

D: "Posy got a message from Dad."

T: "What? When?"

D: "At Mom's wedding. I told him to block and move on, but he talked last night like he might actually want to meet him."

T: "What? Okay... I see the problem."

Daphne is on the way to start getting ready when she hears the knock at the door that she has been expecting all morning.

D: "It's about time you got here."

T: "Hey, I had to leave Jessie in charge of getting the girls dressed. You're lucky I'm here at all. Now what's the crisis?"

D: "You really like playing soccer, don't you?"

E: "Yes! I'm going to try to beat my scoring record next game."

D: "Maybe we can talk more about soccer camp."

E: "REALLY?"

D: "We'll talk when Dad and I get back from our trip."

E: "Thank you Mommy!"

D: "Now go get dressed!"

The next morning...

D: "Well did you and Uncle Posy have fun last night?"

E: "Yes! You let us play in the house."

D: "I did"

E: "If I promise to be careful, can I keep practicing inside? It was nice not to worry about my ball going over the railing."

D: "I guess"

D: "I'm going to head to bed before you come up with more terrible ideas."

P: "Night"

D: "Night"

After Daphne leaves the room, Poseidon lays there, trying to piece his thoughts together. He eventually gives up and falls asleep with fewer answers than when they started the conversation.

P: "What if this is my last chance to meet him?"

D: "Do you want to meet him?"

P: "I don't know."

D: "Then don't let him get under your skin. You don't need to meet him. All he's good for is fucking with your head."

D: "Or it means nothing and he was just hoping you would mention it to Mom at her wedding. He's not a good person, Posy."

P: "I know. But he...he's still our dad."

D: "He stopped being my dad the day he walked away from us. You don't owe him anything just because he contributed to your genetics."

P: *sigh* "I keep thinking about Dad's message."

D: "I told you to block him."

P: "I did, but...I keep thinking about the fact that he reached out. Maybe his motives are bad and his timing was definitely bad, but it's the first time he's ever acknowledged my existence. Maybe that means something."

Poseidon's mind wanders to a thought that has been haunting him, his face becoming serious.

D: "Hey, what's wrong?"

P: "It's nothing"

D: "No it's not"

P: "I already know what you are going to say."

D: "Well now you have to tell me."

D: "Then we kissed for a while there before finally dragging ourselves home."

P: "Where I'm sure you went straight to sleep."

D: "Oh, of course"

They both erupt in giggles that last longer than it was funny because they are both awake later than normal.

D: "Are you sure you want this? We haven't really talked about this step."

J: "I know we don't need a piece of paper to know that we love each other, but you and Ele are my family and I want the whole world to know it."

D: "I love you Jules Borden and yes I will marry you."

J: "Daph, I have been carrying a ring around in my pocket for so long that I put it away because it was driving me crazy trying to find the perfect moment to ask you. Looking at you now and listening to you talk so openly, I don't know why I waited. I love you, Daphne Makris. Will you marry me?"

D: "After the set, we walked outside to enjoy the city view and I started talking like I hadn't seen him in a month. It's so embarrassing looking back, but we hadn't been alone in a while. He simply smiled through it as always, which is why it shocked me when he suddenly got down on one knee."

D: "I was in the middle of my final set of the night when I looked up and saw him. He rarely comes to my performances since we both prefer that he stays home with Ele rather than getting a sitter. But he came that night, just because he knew I was miserable."

D: "Fine, keep your secrets. I'm happy to talk about my incredible love life."

P: "Just tell the story."

D: "Alright, alright. I was performing at the club, but it was a pretty dead night especially for a Friday. During breaks I was texting Jules about how lame it was."

After Eleanor heads to bed, Daphne shows Poseidon his room and the two lay on the bed to catch up.

D: "So Mom mentioned that Kailani came by for lunch, but you haven't mentioned her in any of our talks."

P: "Because I don't know how to explain it... You haven't told me about the proposal."

Daphne leaves the room as Poseidon and Eleanor spend the next hour kicking the ball around. Moments like these remind Poseidon of what he misses living so far away, but he also cannot imagine ever moving back.
