an R admin is not as bad as a bipartisan consensus that our rights mean nothing, actually.
we can see what is happening to trans people in the UK.

they always accuse *us* of not understanding economics and yet...
Alt text: A pink and blue mutual aid flyer featuring a selfie of a Black trans woman wearing a black bonnet and holding a phone. The headline reads, “I’m raising funds to relocate for my safety.” Text on the right says “Brandy in Idaho with sickle cell” and lists: “Anti-trans laws have me unsafe,” “Living in extreme poverty,” and “I’m a piercing artist just making enough to keep a roof over my head.” Two circular labels read “Idaho” and “Sickle Cell.” At the bottom, bold text says, “Please donate to help me relocate to a safer state!”
Healthcare funding is trending, and it feels like a sign to raise awareness—chronically ill people are struggling to afford meds and sometimes go days without them.
I’m crowdfunding for my sickle cell care just to survive. Please support or share 💊 💊:

wtf?!?
It probably does also need further discussion of the fact that, when the government forces a private institution, such as a university, to platform a specific speaker voicing specific ideologies, through threat of a fine, that no longer constitutes free speech. That is compelled speech.
Palantir should not be allowed to have any government contracts at any level because it is fundamentally opposed to the basic concepts of liberal democracy.

Seems disqualifying for a major defense contractor to loudly voice the deeply held social/political beliefs of their ceo at all, even if not batshit.
Browsing this company's website and the only way I can describe what I'm seeing is imagine a school shooter was a management consultant
"no no, our AI agent has assured me that the son of Numenor absolutely has the ring of power and he's gonna march right up to the gate with a tiny force, all we have to do is send out armed troops to take it back 🙂"
[attending the Nazi gala]: heh if they only knew I have a message folded up and jammed into my pocket oh yes please I'll have more champagne
Now that Christopher is dead I suspect at some point we’re going to get a Thiel redaction of THE LORD OF THE RINGS which is going to remove or radically rewrite all the parts he can’t make fit with his worldview. If the current order lasts long enough that’ll end up being the only one available
Best post I saw was
"This is just pedo infighting and you're picking a side"
blood in my eye, george jackson
I’ve had dozens of people at book publishers tell me “ we’d love to sign you. Your memoir is incredible. It’ll be a best seller for sure. We can’t right now though. We can’t sign an antiracist feminist trans girl in this political climate. We will be targeted. Surely you understand.“
I will never vote for John Fetterman.
re:
the history of the U.S.-the blood-soaked, urine-steeped essence of its being; the wreckage and demise of its human character under the wheels of a two-hundred-year-old headlong flight with heedless, frightened animals at the controls of a machine that has mastered them-allows for no appeal on a strictly ideological level. George Wallace or Adolf Hitler would fare better at the polls of an honest election than Huey Newton and Tom Hayden. But again, what is an honest election after the fact of monopoly capital? -george jackson
here it is. i never finished the book it's from but this quote has always struck me very deeply
i believe George Jackson has a famous quote about that
i don't like that platner guy because a) nazi tattoo & b) if a genuine progressive was revealed to have a regretted nazi tattoo somehow they would be subjected to relentless attacks over it from places that're suspiciously quiet about platner. i consider that telling
centrist dems shaking in fear at the prospect of taking a single step to the left, sighing in relief when they see the tattoo. phew, he's only a nazi, we were worried for a minute there
4^2 + 6^2
one reason i have been pushing for things like laws requiring their states to step in with local funding for trans care is not because they would do it but because it would create opportunities for radicalization when they didn't anyway
same effect as accelerationism without doing accelerationism!
Hey Booker real quick buddy can you look straight into the camera and say what the people you’re talking about didn’t agree with her on? Just like, for reference? What was that 10 percent that people couldn’t get past?
Simpsons Democratic convention - "We hate life and ourselves", "We can't govern!"
Suspicious goose: which views? WHICH VIEWS MOTHERFUCKER
"sure you might disagree with 10% of her views..."
Like... I'm sorry, but to win future elections, you need a good chunk of the people who sat out in 2016 or 2024 to vote for you, and I just don't think that sneering at them and saying it's their fault that things are the way they are right now is going to win them over, even if you truly believe it
"You let someone get into office..."
That's a lot of responsibility to be dumping on people you acknowledge are already pretty close to you in beliefs. Instead of berating them, you might consider what you could do to appeal to them, since, like you said, they agree with you on 90% of things.
i should make it clear that i dont necessarily think the US bishops will not be excommunicated.
but it will *not* be over trans healthcare. and after the schism, the vatican will *not* become pro-trans.
"hatred"? because i engaged in mild sarcasm? in response to someone acting as an apologist for the organization that is slowly torturing us to death?
with "allies" like these, who needs enemies?
