del Toro's Frankenstein felt like it was tailored too much to a casual streaming audience, but when it was allowed to shine, it gripped me. Jacob Elordi was phenomenal as the Creature and I am going to have to art about it when I have time.

Panic disorder suuucks. Had two shitty stressful weeks in a row this month (which I was handling well!) and then boom. First panic attack in 2 years. Stayed calm and did all the things you're supposed to do. Still lasted over an hour and then symptoms haunted me for 3+ days after. 👎 Solidarity bro.
Finally got to sit down and watch Sinners, and it was so damn good. Left me wanting more in all the right ways.

That will probably be it for me as far as Spooky Spring goes this year, sadly. At least during the actual event. I may continue to work through the prompts when I have time. I just ended up unexpectedly busy and did not have the time to devote that I generally do.
I love this prompt. I could have taken it in so many directions. But having limited time this year, I decided to stick with a classic. I've loved gryphons since I was a kid and wanted to do my own take on a small, housecat-sized version.
A small gryphon, posed as if climbing down from the trunk of a tree head-first. She is holding her wings out in a threat display, beak slightly open. She has the head and wings of a melanistic barn owl, and the body of a housecat with a torbie coat pattern. She has catlike ears, five toes on each forefoot with long talons, and a fan of feathers growing from the end of her tail.

I could have easily put a dozen more hours into this one, and I'll probably revisit it in the future when I have more time. But I'm proud of what I managed to do in less than three days.

My original idea for this prompt was a spellwork still life. But I rewatched The Prestige a couple weeks back and that aesthetic grabbed me hard. I was also inspired by turn-of-the century magician gig posters, especially the trend of red devil/ imp figures whispering in the performer's ear.
