Your post led to me realizing I still know the names of some clients from my undergrad job as a part time psychiatric rehabilitation counselor (as well as the ridiculous name for the position).
Actively counterproductive to remember those names, brain!

*Of note, I'm not against studies to see what works and getting what works to the people. I'm against orders to fast-track things based on media personalities having a conversation with the president. I also think most of the literature on this is flimsy at best. . .
Several of my undergrads this semester wrote about the possible future of psychedelics+therapy. Even the most optimistic of them didn't expect widespread adoption any time soon. They sure didn't see this nonsense* coming.
Note: The order says nothing about psychotherapy at all...
Never be cruel. Never be cowardly. Hate is always foolish. Love is always wise. Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind.

It at least used to be that being put in a starter pack helped. Not sure if that still works, but I can't otherwise explain why I have more followers here than I ever did there (I certainly don't post as much as I used to).
I started teaching an undergrad class in 2013 on psychotherapy. Out of curiosity, I've just checked to see what I can tell about what those students are doing now. I tracked down about half of them.
Nine of the 38 are psychologists. Over a fifth!
Yeah, our other one gives no warning at all (and they are sisters)
Our poor kitty made a repeated yowling sound that seemed to say, "Something terrible is happening to me!" ... and then she coughed up a hairball. Which, you know, does sound kind of like a terrible thing to have happen to oneself now that I think about it

One of the most challenging issues in studying mental health during COVID-19 was separating the impact of containment policies (lockdowns) from pandemic severity (societal infection rates), as both can contribute to mental distress.
In this extensive international effort, we aimed to address this π§΅
Itβs time again for your regular reminder:
Iβve heard a lot of issues folks are having with using data panels. Does anyone have a party they prefer to go through? Iβve heard rumblings that prolific may not be great and others recommended forthright access. Any recs?

Except he just waffles on with his own talking points rather than answer even simple questions, so I don't even think that has any hope. I feel bad for the people who think this could be productive. I'm sure at least many of them mean well, but they are just going to get played. Sigh.

And then the writers forget or never knew (unless the script editor is really doing a great job).
I really enjoyed a radio play adaptation that was on BBC radio.... five years ago maybe? I meant to check to see how much was similar to original but never got around to it. From what you've posted here possibly more than I expected (sexism and pontificating at windows excised though).
Looks so much better and safer than what's there!
Irasutoya, Japan's popular free clip art library, has released its latest creation in honor of the United States President, Donald Trump. It's a clever play on TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) and the Japanese word γΏγ³ for octopus, which also means "idiot."
Look, I didn't get into the peer review process/editing because I wanted to do detective work on whether people might be making up their credentials and generating papers entirely via AI. . . . but I did read Encyclopedia Brown and Sherlock as a kid, so joke's on you, science scammers, I'm prepared

Do horses want cake? We conducted an investigation into statements published by @bencollins.bsky.social in the print edition of @theonion.com.
We discussed a policy, or really "guidelines" at the last faculty meeting, and part of the discussion was few departments had them (that were public anyway).

I understand that some kind of measure of engagement is necessary if you want to evaluate how a social media company is doing, yet I find it hard to take seriously any discourse founded on a graph of "daily likers."
What with my last name, corrupted by illiterate farmers though it may be, it is probably no surprise that I got: German.
FWIW I would bike there, but not Southern Village. But then I live pretty near the high school...
