Starbucks: We heard your complaints and brought back the condiment bars! And our new lids make it impossible for you to take them off and add anything to your drink! Enjoy!

The company that’s “saving local journalism” cut half of its staff since merging with Gatehouse.
Join the team saving local journalism. Across USA TODAY Co., Inc. and the USA TODAY Network of more than 200+ local newsrooms, we are hiring for reporting, editing, audience, and leadership roles. This is work for people who want to do ambitious journalism, reach large and meaningful audiences, and help shape what modern newsrooms can be.
LOL the USA Today pres posting job links claiming they're "saving local journalism," when Gannett is the news company that's done the most to destroy it. (I refrained from commenting on her post, please clap.)
Yeah, she has been for a while. It really sucks.
Oh my god I just remembered I had a dream last night that I had published my (totally nowhere near coherent or finished) book and @joycecaroloates.bsky.social blurbed it (totally not anything she'd blurb, if it ever gets published) and it was the best day of my life. Dream publishing is way more fun
Not to be pedantic, but this is not the first step!
Forgot something! www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuJr...
Anyway thank you for your help! Definitely helped me figure out what she had done!
That is weird! But maybe just backlogged, as they didn't deduct my mom's accidental second payment until today?
Ok, turns out SHE GOT AN EMAIL FROM HER ACCOUNTANT saying she was going to deduct when filing and if she didn't want that, to let them know. She did not read the email. So accountant filed with payment and then Mom logged on and paid herself. So it is all her. It's been a LONG day.
Ok, looked and it says one was paid "Direct pay" and one was "e-file"
Online. She does not use accounting software, just a real accountant and a lot of paper files. Accountant did not pay for her, I checked. So no telling what she did. IRS told her to dispute the charge with her bank. And if that doesn't work, call back in 10 business days and ask for a refund.
God bless this person bc my mom is now asking them about Georgia taxes smh. (Bc it happened with GA too. I think she must have paid twice or something.)
OMG SOMEONE ANSWERED IMMEDIATELY THANK YOU!
Thank you!

The IRS has deducted the same (large) amount multiple times from my mom's account after she paid her taxes and we've been on hold for an hour now trying to talk to a human about it. Luv the new efficient government.
The book is really funny, fwiw. (Have not started the show.)
Optimistically just bought cute bras because I’m NOT dating anyone
What a loss. RIP
"it's not like she made a bunch of classic hits that hold up even today." wuttttttt
And also re drugstore, La Roche-Posay has some great products — I use moisturizer and cleanser from this line and love it. (Have not tried any of the serum stuff tho) www.laroche-posay.us/our-products...
Sephora sale on til Mon, just sayin. But also talk to a dermatologist about what you actually need! Too many things can make your skin worse.
Put them in a safe deposit box for your kid to read much, much later on. I would LOVE to read my grandmother's letters to/from her husband (who went MIA in Korea when my mom was 5), but she destroyed them.
Famously vengeful Knicks owner Jim Dolan has long spied on people at his iconic arenas. WIRED goes deep inside the operation that allegedly tracked a trans woman, lawyers, protesters, and more. www.wired.com/story/madiso...
I’m still kinda wrecked from The Pitt finale
we are so cooked if people can’t even decide what to order at Starbucks without using ChatGPT
Two men promised a $1.1 million 3D printer could fix Cairo, Illinois’ housing crisis. The more reporter Molly Parker asked questions, the weirder things got. @capitolnewsil.bsky.social
My mom lost her mom at 104, and it was still really really hard (and sudden)! I think it always is*, no matter how long or how “peaceful.“ 💗💗💗
*unless you did not have good relationship with yr mom in which case possibly v different
