Over 300 families have now gained a total of £500k in benefits with help from Money Matters — a scheme we set up with Kellogg's 🪙

Since launching in 2022, the scheme has helped families secure benefits they didn’t know they were entitled to, with one family gaining a staggering £24,121 a year.

Free school meal rule change to make 500,000 more pupils eligible Charities broadly welcome the plans, saying they hope it is a sign of more to come.

It's great to see the news that Free School Meals will be extended to all children in families in receipt of Universal Credit. This should lift around 100,000 children out of poverty according to analysis by @ippr.org.

New data from @endchildpoverty.bsky.social shows that at least one in four children live in poverty in the vast majority of constituencies (88%) in North West England.

For Manchester Rusholme, the picture is even more bleak – with more than half of all children currently living in poverty.

✍️ We're proud to have signed a joint letter with the End Child Poverty Coalition, written by Rosie - a mum pulled into poverty by the two-child limit to benefit payments, addressed to Rachel Reeves MP.

This policy has been in place for 8 years and must be scrapped. #AllKidsCount

🗨️ @grahamwhitham.bsky.social, Chief Executive at Resolve Poverty said: “It’s a national disgrace that in an average class of 30, at least nine children are now living in poverty – and yesterday’s Spring Statement didn’t offer any concrete solutions on cutting this number.
