Our store's lemon tree is ready for it to start warming up around here.
It's the annual Best of Madison award nominations. We'd love to have your support and it takes only a minute.
Just go to madisonmagazine.com/BOM and type in Republic of Letters in the bookstore category. You do not need to be a Madison resident to nominate us.

A pile of gray sweatshirts with text on the front: one line reads Republic of Letters, the others are all anagrams of the store name (such as profit be cruellest).
Anagram Sweatshirts are back in stock in all sizes!
Excited to host our 2nd Winter Writer Reading of the season with David Shih next week!

Finally getting to start my Christmas present to myself: What in Me is Dark.

It was my first cosy fantasy read and I didn't expect to love it as much as I did.
Orange Eats Creeps was my introduction to TDR. So excited for the new edition!
Hello! We're a bookstore over in Wisconsin and we love small presses.
Have you checked out the small presses Asterism distributes? I like a bunch of them- Whiskey Tit, Kernpunkt, Burrow Press, etc.
Fuligin! Aquastor! Cacogen!
It's a good line.
Reading The MANIAC right now. Labatut's When We Ceased to Understand the World was one of the most memorable and horrifying books I've ever read.

My favorite book of 2024 for sure.
Some advice.
If you're worried your tbr pile looks too big, just move it further away, so it looks smaller
You can then buy more books.

Looking to find Midwestern writers (especially Wisconsin). Do me a huge favor and comment any that you know. Including yourself!

Hello!
The Priory of the Orange Tree. The Wolf and the Woodsman. The Bear and the Nightingale.
We'd love to be included!
But with social media having killed off the traditional media I could otherwise have worked with, it leaves our bookstore with no good way of reaching our audience.
No where near enough local users here (yet).
It seems like the owners of other social media platforms are intent on making their sites worse. Honestly, that may be the best. Most of us would be better off without them.
