Maybe the lyrics haven’t aged well after 40yrs, but BandAid/the song were significant in 1983. Geldof made everyone aware of the famine in Ethiopia. There was no internet then, knowledge was not there until he spoke up. He found a new way, as a musician, to raise a large sum of relief money. (1/2)
