1) My girlfriend and I live in a dense population centre, and as a result often espy other tower-dwellers through their windows; we’ve got nicknames for recurring characters, one of whom we’ve named “Gollum”. This poor soul has a south-facing window, so his suite must be sweltering in the heat.

It was so enriching to closely examine her works, divining her techniques and inferring her intent and context (thanks to the aforementioned commentary)
TIL that ducks swim in an entirely hilarious manner when nosing about for nutriment underwater; I was on my daily ambulation when I espied one such duck flapping their little feetsies almost orthogonal to their main axis to propel themselves forward beneath the surface. I am gruntled.
