I'm just going by what voters tell pollsters and focus groups. Most prioritize other issues (inflation, jobs, etc.) and even the ones who do care about this first and foremost are likely to vote Dem because they're better on it than Republicans. Not making a moral judgment, just a practical one.

Foreign policy just isn't that big a deal to most voters. And among those for whom it is, Trump starting this war at Netanyahu's behest is likely to drown out him telling Netanyahu to stop bombing (which probably won't even work).

I'm not sleighting his solo career, but when people at soccer stadiums and political rallies all over the world are singing your song, it has had a cultural impact that transcends even a large footprint within the world of rock music. That song is like "Yesterday" or "Satisfaction" level.

He's made some good records but nothing with the cultural impact of the White Stripes stuff. "Seven Nation Army" is iconic. Even people who don't like rock music know it.

She has also had a knack for deliberately playing slightly off and changing up tempo at times in ways that worked and was a key to some of their best songs. One of my favorite WS songs is "Catch Hell Blues" from Icky Thump and her drumming absolutely makes the whole song.

I'm not a pro but Meg White always sounded like a goddamned force of nature to me on those records. And I've heard people who are accomplished pros (Dave Grohl, Ringo Starr, etc.) speak very highly of her work, which is good enough for me.

People confuse "good musician" with "technically showy musician" too much. Jack White himself said the White Stripes wouldn't have been nearly as good with Neil Peart as the drummer. Her playing wasn't flashy but it worked amazingly well as part of their sound.
