I would hope people would not trust a seemingly random person over a friend, in either case, but I'm also against witch hunts. Things are so difficult and confusing

I somewhat agree. I think if people want to go into the "I'm just sharing my experience route", I think it would be far better to wait for a conversation to bring it up, then share it and be like "This is my experience, please don't involve me with this person, but you can do as you see fit".

The other thing too is, when someone does something bad, when is it worth it to just bring it up to somebody else out of the blue, instead of waiting for a discussion to bring it up, or if it's really bad, informing the proper authorities?

I'm sorry. I suppose I just have a bit of a difficulty understanding because some people have genuinely tried to do this to me, and as a result I got hated and blocked by some people I liked. You are right, too, however, I (genuinely) don't know if denying somebody the benefit of the doubt is ok.

Well, there's the other thing too, of people needing (IMO) to have an innocent until proven guilty ideology. If someone tries to say to someone else that I did some horrible stuff, I'd hope they'd either discuss it with me or give me some of the benefit of the doubt, else it can start a defamation
