Not that long ago, this would have had serious consequences for a number of people at Fifa. Today? Water off a duck's back. The problem is not just corruption, but how it is now felt that corruption is the default modus operandi of corporations and governments. In other words, "normal".

It is not.

Hi. Just a heads up there’s a VoiceOver accessibility bug in the dialogue for the new translation feature. After switching it on, I’m presented with the list of languages. I can not switch individual languages on or off in the list, VoiceOver always says “on”, whatever I do. Cheers.

Appointment of Administrators to Eagle Football Holdings Bidco Limited - Cork Gully

With massive debts to private equity company Ares, multiclub owner John Textor’s holding company he uses to control the likes of Lyon, Botafogo and RWDM Brussels is in administration.

Least surprising news, but reminder football bodies allowed this to happen.

Some lovely stuff in here from Gary Breen about growing up London-Irish, and supporting Ireland, and Kerry, in Camden Town in the 1980s. #spéirghorm

The greatest tweets of all time Twitter’s best hits, preserved before it all goes down in flames.

20 years ago today, Jack Dorsey posted the first tweet. A lot has happened since then, and Twitter isn't really Twitter anymore, literally and figuratively.

That's why we created an archive to preserve the funniest, weirdest, and most memorable tweets in the site's tumultuous history.

The best case scenario is Spurs escape relegation this season and ENIC become so rattled by the whole affair and realise they’re not cut out for club ownership that they decide to sell the club at less than they were hoping to get when they first opened the new stadium.

Shelbourne fans calling for apartheid Israel to be shown the red card at their game against St. Pat's on Friday night. The message from Irish football supporters is loud and clear, no playing apartheid. The FAI must boycott the Nations League fixtures, respect the Palestinian picket line #BanIsrael

Ratcliffe should learn about his own club before spouting his nonsense Ratcliffe’s clumsily ill-advised comments on immigration were plainly anti-football and reignites the argument that clubs be owned by supporters, not private or state interests, writes Miguel Delaney

Ratcliffe's comments were anti-football

The game has many problems, but one of its virtues is inclusivity, and multiple examples show this

Its mass platform can also expose the poverty of thinking from billionaires who decide they like its popularity

If the FAI won’t boycott then I hope the players will. Also curious to see if RTE or other broadcasters will show it; RTE considered Israel’s participation in Eurovision “unconscionable” after all. #FAI #NationsLeague #COYBIG

To my mind, this is exactly the right take. AI has a number of useful applications but is being vastly oversold in order to make venture capitalists and AI company executives and investors richer. We saw it with bitcoin, NFTs and the blockchain and we are seeing it again but on an even larger scale.
