In all seriousness, I only know what's being reported, but if true that Hegseth fired Phelan for proposing Golden Fleet directly to Trump and for not being anti-woke, that's civilian-civilian conflict (and maybe Trump is mad), and that's not good for civ-mil relations either. See also: Army.

When I was born there were both Civil War veterans and ex slaves still living. If a lifetime is 80 years it's only been two lifetimes since the Civil War and slavery. Humanity doesn't change much in two lifetimes.
