I really really reccommend people read "The Other Olympians" by Michael Waters wrt all of this, bc this exact song and dance by the IOC has been done before (particularly to intersex and trans masculine athletes). Oh, when did these ideologies really kickoff? The 1936 Berlin Olympics.
