Heard the unmistakable kronking of a Raven whilst i was in the garden earlier. A quick dash back indoors for bins and camera and a brisk walk down the farm track. Scanned towards Highcliffe Manor and saw it land in a pine tree. Shortly after it flew NW over the village @flamboroughbird.bsky.social

Smart Eastern Black Redstart in St Mary's churchyard, Scarborough today. Initially flighty and feeding in the trees late morning, It showed well early afternoon in the old lower disused graveyard. @birdguides.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social @rarebirder.bsky.social
3 Dusky Warblers on the outer head also Northern Bullfinch, Firecrest and Siberian Chiffchaff also Great Northern Diver and 70 Little Gulls on the seawatch with a Yellow-browed Warbler at RSPB Bempton.

The ringing demonstrations are going ahead at RSPB Bempton and South Landing, both 8am-12pm.
The guided walk for those booked on it is going ahead (meet at the lighthouse for 10am start).

Apparently Seen to land on the cliffs near Staple Newk a few times before dusk Steph, But don't know which area of said cliff. A good chance it did eventually roost somewhere near there

On this date last year i had a bit of a birding find at RSPB Bempton....
Long-tailed Skua on the seawatch, first Pink-footed Geese of the autumn also Green Woodpecker, Whinchat and Redstart with a decent fall of commoner species too.
