Was higher on #Bearcats runner Tawee Walker, formerly of Wisconsin and OU, earlier in the offseason. Starting to feel more and more like a split with Evan Pryor, though not totally out on Walker yet.

#cyclones Iowa State has two runners that could each be their RB1 by season's end in Abu Sama and Carson Hansen... pass for me

#ucffootball new staff and not sure what their plan will be with the RBs. Wasn't a lot of #CFF success at that position during Frost's tenure with Nebraska... looks like G5 transfer Jaden Nixon leading the pack there... but Myles Montgomery still hanging around.

Backfields I am not as interested in as things currently stand:

#skobuffs they will definitely run the ball more this year but I have a hard time envisioning one bellcow RB. Plus, one of the WRs, Drelon Miller, is expected to take RB snaps. OL will probably still be suspect.

The #HoustonCougers brought in one of the best from the G5 in Dean Connors from right across the street at Rice. G5 RBs have not transitioned well to the P4, but this Houston team has a pretty soft schedule. Was higher on Conners earlier in the offseason

#TCU runner Nate Palmer appears to be getting the Cam Cook treatment with the hype building this offseason. We all remember how Cook's season turned out in '24, so I'm tempering expectations. Palmer was a true freshman last year so may be more a name for the future.

#GOPOKES may be the most interesting backfield in America right now, as CFFers hold their collective breath on a decision to name a starter. I have some trepidation on whether there will be a bellcow this year to replace Ollie Gordon. Gundy, above all else, is very unpredictable.

Jayhawks runner Daniel Hishaw who, after missing some time last year, has by all accounts returned to the fold at #KU as they seek to replace a productive runner in Devin Neal

Kedrick Reescano and Texas State transfer/former CFF darling Ismael Mahdi both stand out for the #ArizonaWildcats. Not sure there will be a clear number 1 here but I'd roll the dice on Reescano, who was the backup behind Conley in 2024.

Intriguing names behind the top group include:

Both Kyson Brown and Army transfer Kanye Udoh at #ASU--potentially a split backfield this year, at the very least, an undecided room currently; but a room that replaces one of the best RBs in CFB

Only two of the 10 played on teams that ranked outside the top 60 in plays per game. 8/10's teams averaged ~70+ plays per game.
