@hpcguru.bsky.social obviously. Also, the person who has hopefully found my glasses.

This is bad news for the hpc mediascape, I didn't think that HPCGuru would age like the rest of us.
Scratch that, I met someone getting on the plane.
At the airport on the way to #ISC25, there was a time I'd have bumped into someone I know already but not today.
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. HPC was already steamrollered, assimilated by and spat out by cloud and the hyperscalers 15 years ago. HPC is going to roll along doing what it's always done, still doing useful work and pushing boundaries but not getting much wider engagement.
Someone has been preparing hard for ten tors next weekend. Found these tucked into a dry spot today.
Part of the lustre install process is to unalias ls from /etc/profile to cut down on that.
I tried it, it's calling statx on each file and readlink on each directory which seems reasonable.
The worst thing I can see there is having the git branch and status in the prompt. Which I also do.
I would not be able to resist drawing pictures with that. Any bets on if I could manage a teapot?
Seriously though, that's great data.
Nice, I've always had a soft spot for slurm.
Mind you, ask me about optane and I'll say all of them.
Someone asked me once how many itanium processors were running my code. I thought about it a while and came back with "most of them" ๐คฃ
It's a risk I'm willing to take.
Everyone needs a hobby.
Why don't you just test bogosort last? Works every time.
I've got this one. Pure #HPC I've done boats, on the storage side I've put it into trains and planes.
On the subject of #SC24 what's the deal with companies employing you based on your knowledge, skill-set and industry experience, then not supporting you in maintaining that? This was another year missed but when it comes to #SC25 I'll do what needs to be done.
Exclusive node allocation surely, but network and storage are a shared resource.
I feel that as a community we should be good at queueing.
