Good thing, too. It still burns me they're the only country with no tariffs.

Yes. And nobody had to die for his deal.

Did you notice we've lifted sanctions on Russian oil? There's no tariff on it. Makes it the cheapest oil to import.

I'm not saying the USA is right. I'm saying the USA being wrong doesn't negate Iran being wrong. It's like watching Stalin and Hitler do battle.

Although their position makes sense I just have to insert a reminder that Iran has sponsored terrorism against civilians since the revolution, and is working on nuclear weapons, and killed thousands of its own citizens only recently, and treats women like animals.

To be fair, both can be true.

Absolutely! I find the aesthetics excuse to be absurd, given that they use 'em in Vancouver. The buses can swerve around three lanes, or take down the contacts temporarily.

I would add that a quick use of Vancouver buses, which are mostly electrically powered (via overhead lines) for most of their routes, makes this result obvious - when the driver moves forward, the acceleration is instant and strong, so the buses make far better time than diesels can.

I do agree that “freedom” is not what I think of as the Army’s dominant cultural attribute, though!

Yes, the Army ethos is more discipline, but the US armed forces have, in past decades, been taught to question, not obey, when a command is clearly in violation of the law... as a learning from both Nuremberg and Vietnam.

This doesn't surprise me - Catholics are the most knowledgeable Christians when it comes to religion, for one thing.

The US military has until Trump required officers to follow only legal orders. Not unquestioning!

No freedom of religion, though. Gotta be the right kind of Protestant or they make it clear you're not supposed to be there.

Not much freedom of skin color, either.

I hate the way the right has destroyed the word “freedom.”

The face of evil

I might add that Israeli citizens also include Druze, Christians, and Arabs, but I guess as long as enough Jews die, their deaths are okay with many on BlueSky.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

I'd like to know why, when people come right out on BlueSky and say they really just hate Jews, it's okay.

If I came out and said I just hate Catholics, or Africans, or Muslims, I'd be reported so many times they'd have to ban me. But say all Israelis should be killed, and it's okay.

Not. Right.

And there you are.

You just want to kill Jews.

Fuck you.

Bluesky: where a guy breaking a mass-produced statue is far more important than murdering a French peacekeeper.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Reporters kept pushing the myth when they knew it was a lie.

2 days ago 1 0 0 0

It's a fucking statue.

Hezbollah killed a French peacekeeper but that's not news.

Because you only want to hate Jews.

2 days ago 0 0 2 0

It's a stupid waste of print when a REAL French UN peacekeeper was murdered by Iran's Hezbollah terrorists.

Statues aren't alive.

But sure - Israel's involved so it's automatically evil.

Anything to hate Jews. You can always blame them for everything. Ignore Sudan, focus on Israel.

No real surprise here.

... and they've been doing this for decades, not reporting on terrorist attacks on Israel unless Israel fights back, and then mentioning the terrorist attack briefly in paragraph 12, when everyone's stopped reading.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Why is this news, exactly?

Hezbollah murdered a French UN peacekeeper in a terrorist attack. I don't see it on the front page.

They WANT you to hate Israel and they'll ban some stories and promote others till you think Israel is genocide and Hamas/Hezbollah are democratic.

Oh, there is massive fraud. Texas keeps throwing black people and Democrats off the voting rolls with no good reason.

The fraud is there, but it’s Republicans doing it.

The UN Sec-Gen refused to admit Hezbollah had killed a French UN peacekeeper and injured others in a terrorist attack.

Pres. Macron set the record straight.

Makes one wonder about other UN statements, but explains the attitude of many on BlueSky, who confuse terrorists with refugees.

And don't pretend you have no feelings about Israel when you repeatedly say they committed genocide, using the watered-down definition that could apply to the US in WWII. Nearly all wars are "genocide" by the current definition. There are more people in Gaza now than before the war.

(2/2) Including civilian deaths, when fighting an enemy that surrounds guns with civilians. -- Rocket launchers surrounded by children, military HQ in a hospital.

Genocide? Palestinians are not a single group. From Jordan, Syria... others moved to Israel to stop Jews moving in.
