My brain was telling me it is full only for an instant of time. Which is correct, but our eyes cannot tell the difference for 2-3 days

But it can’t be a full moon ALL weekend, my brain says.

(Yes, I know, but still)

This image is a satirical book cover created in the distinct watercolor and ink illustration style of the classic children's book series "Franklin the Turtle." The title at the top, in large, orange, friendly letters, reads "FRANKLIN SERVES JUSTICE."
The central focus of the illustration is Franklin the Turtle, who is wearing his signature blue baseball cap and red neck scarf. He is walking on a dirt path, smiling, and holding a rope that is tied to the handcuffs of a man in a navy blue suit and a long red tie. The man is an unmistakable caricature of President Donald Trump, who is walking behind Franklin with a grumpy expression.
They are walking towards a large, historic-looking building in the background, which is identified by a sign as "THE HAGUE - INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE." The building is a large, ornate brick structure with towers and a clock, representing the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands.
On the grassy sidelines of the path, other familiar animal characters from the Franklin series, including Bear, Beaver, and Fox, are watching the procession with varied expressions. The overall tone is one of political satire rendered in a charming, innocent children's book aesthetic. The entire illustration is framed by a light blue border.

We Canadians can also play this game.

I gave my book to a small number of people to beta read. Waiting sucks, I want feedback RIGHT NOW! 🀣

I've never done this, any of this, before. I don't know what I'm doing.

I do think it is important to be precise in your statement because otherwise it sounds ableist. Because I know you, I KNOW that’s not your intention. But you know words and how they impact others matter, like mine were interpreted by you, without that being my intention.

So, my intention with β€œI think you mean” is: this is how I interpret what you are saying. Which is different from β€œYou mean”, where I am *telling* you what YOU must think.

You have no need to dictate now, but that can change in a dime. I lost the ability to use my left arm for a week recently.

I think you mean: I will never let my computer act autonomously using an LLM prompted by my instructions.

Dictation, powered by modern speech to text models is excellent, and you can’t divorce one use of the tech from the other.

And I reserve the right to yell expletives at my computer.

The image is a map showing a section of North Vancouver with a blue outlined route forming a large irregular loop. The route passes through neighbourhoods and green spaces, including the Lynn Valley area and Lynn Canyon Park.

Nice long walk around the neighborhood today. Just a bit under 13.5km.

If you want to understand what kind of person someone you know is, look at how they treat the people they don't know, especially when it's not face to face.

Some interactions this week reminded me that some people are just assholes and nothing you can do will teach them empathy.

So you just have to move on and enjoy the people you've surrounded yourself with that give you joy.

Just waiting to see if they send the troops to Portland anyway, defying two judges.

No shit. If you are bigots you will be stigmatized.
Your freedom of religion does not give you the right to harm others. Treating a group of people as not deserving of the same rights that you have harms THEM.

So I have the right to say fuck your beliefs.

A custom built SPA framework based on modern web APIs can be 80%-90% faster than React, with 50% the memory footprint. Only one runtime dependency (DOMPurify)

After years of wanting to do this I finally had a chance to build it with my coworkers. It is so good.

Making punk rock protest songs about the week's news is cathartic

There is only one reason a government would designate anti fascist ideology a "terrorist organization."

I'm pretty sure all the songs being played in this lobby are AI generated. They all have that same quality and Shazam recognizes none of them.

The moment they crossed the threshold between the phosphorescent
glow and the absolute dark, everything stopped. No sound of
footsteps, no engines, no whispers, no breathing buildings.
Just silence so complete it felt like death.
And somewhere in that silence, something that had been waiting since
she spoke those words in the tunnel finally smiled.

The 9km hike today is a big win for me. Was able to do it without any foot pain and with lower risk of reinjury thanks to the ankle brace. New orthotics were not a problem.

I still have some hip issues I need to work on with my physio. Goal is to walk 25km without pain.
