Isn't this how the Tales from the Loop timeline starts in the 60s? We might just be half a century late. Keep your eyes on the magnetrine effect.

I love that pit. Also, nice terrain.
So I've just wishlisted a game on steam based on the composer of the soundtrack. And the gameplay might turn out ok too I guess but that's not what got me to see the trailer. Idk what that says about me or the industry or the artist.
Literal peak content
The 2nd Mario movie is a self-referential overindulgent needlessly incoherent 1h and 38 minutes. And I would take it no other way. Don't take your kids into the movie, it's actually kinda harmful to children. Take me instead, it gave me great joy.
Is this like a weather forecast? As we enter the spring season light discourse on dungeon garments will emerge in the south, in the north a heavy manifesto against bullet points raises temperatures
I spoke about dungeon design at Games Now! @gamesnowaaltofi.bsky.social in Aalto University. We've been designing dungeons for 50+ years in the tabletop world, time to bring those learnings to video games too!

I mean that's basically Terra Mystica
Do you think tea tastes like water and grass? Do you find yourself completely indifferent to the concept of leaf-flavored water? That was me, and if that is you, let me tell you how I figured out tea over the past year. blog.hiskih.fi/i-used-to-di.... The blog is not just for ttrpg stuff after all.

How big are realistic towns and cities in fantasy? It's not a fun task to figure out so I made a quick reference with real-life example locations to compare to: blog.hiskih.fi/cities-quick...

Load tray 1. Plain, A4. Then press the [OK] button on printer control panel to start cleaning. Do not understand the request
I followed the instructions perfectly and misunderstood the request and did not press OK and was confused why nothing was happening. Am I smart or stupid?
I keep forgetting I have a license for Fork. I start initializing a git repo and then remember why I hate command line and get sad and then I remember I paid for this awesome indie developed GUI and get happy again. Why do I keep forgetting I paid for Fork? Is it the name??? It's such a good tool.
FYI the collection is pretty well hidden. I almost sent a ticket to support but before you do that make sure you have looked at the pictures in the blog post carefully. It's not under My add-ons like you'd assume, they added a whole new tab for it which doesn't look clickable at a quick glance.
I wager the two people you should talk to are Spencer Campbell and Chris McDowall. Afaik both jumped to fulltime after doing it on the side for a while.
is the future of OSR that we fax each other dungeons on our personal receipt printers
Workin' on a new game about shooty bois vs goblins combining ideas from Into the Odd, Vagabond and Nimble. First playtest report right here: blog.hiskih.fi/mobile-dunge...

Should you design a ttrpg system assuming people will get rules wrong? At least don't make a complex system that breaks if a crucial rule is overlooked perhaps. Or should a game be a perfect clockwork?

Congratulations Expedition 33 for winning The Game Awards
It's that time of the year again where Spotify tells me my top listened song and I have no idea how it sounds because my listening habits include playing a song on repeat in the background by accident and without sound.
If you do want the office work, I recommend the Critical Role Dispatch one-shot. It's pretty funny and touches on many of the pains of corporate life.
Dispatch is pretty great. But what is funny is that it really isn't about
A superheroes
B office work
Sure both are part of it but in actuality it is, like most great stories, about humans. The rest is very entertaining set dressing.
You need that set dressing. But never neglect the humans.

Sometimes you are writing a thesis on OSR and the perfect source floats onto your feed. I wasn't even done reading and I'd already added this to my Zotero library.
Would be an odd business decision to have day 1 DLC. The content is coming with Crawford & Perkins working on a big supplement and Keith Baker on another. Playtest materials got released for new supplements very quickly after release. The lack of adventures is sad but besides that it all looks ok.
This paragraph and many other choices make more sense when you consider the game to be written for an audience that has potentially never played a ttrpg before. This game caters to the viewers of Critical Role who either want to leave dnd or never played to begin with.
I can't stop thinking about the NWOF. The previous definition for the New Wave of Fantasy was based on measurability but that is poor for design so instead I've written down what I believe to be the design ethos behind these games: The NWOF Promise blog.hiskih.fi/the-nwof-pro...
