A really fun project we've been working on: Real-Time Rendering with JPEG textures! Ended up working way better than we expected (1500+ fps). Will be interesting extending this to modern formats like AVIF or JPEG XL.

First results on "Potree-Next", a WebGPU-based rewrite of Potree. Still work to do before it is production-ready, but over the course of the next year it will catch up with the current Potree 1.8, and eventually replace it.

Zwei stark befahrene Autospuren pro Seite machen den Gürtel aber weiterhin komplett unattraktiv, egal wie viele Bäume man dahin pflanzt. Das wird dann trotzdem nicht nennenswert leiser und ansehnlicher werden.

Mein Problem bei den Grünen ist dass sie es gut meinen aber nicht gut machen. Warum beim Gürtel auf jeder Seite Fahrspuren streichen wenn man auch eine Gürtelseite komplett Autofrei machen könnte? Warum Radspuren/Mehrzweckstreifen wo sich Radwege ausgehn würden? usw.

Halte ich für kein ernsthaft unlösbares Problem. Dafür wird sich ne alternative finden, und wenns nur ein 10cm Randstein zum Beet ist.

In den Niederlanden ist das total üblich dass man hausseitige Begrünung sieht um die sich die Bewohner kümmern. Damit würd das der Stadt sogar günstiger kommen, müsste man in Wien einfach mal erlauben und normalisieren.

Barrierefreiheit versteh ich nicht. Sollt ja wurscht sein ob das jetzt links oder rechts ist. Zuständigkeit für Pflege versteh ich ebenfalls nicht. Ob die Stadt das pflegt weil's links oder rechts ist macht auch keinen unterschied. Bei hausseitig kann man aber durchaus oft Bewohner dafür gewinnen.

Ich fänd auch mehr hausseitige Begrünung cool anstatt strassenseitige. Irgendwie wirkt es einfach viel netter zwischen begrünten Häusern zu spazieren, als zwischen einem grauen Haus und ein bisschen Grün neben der Strasse.

Das hat mir auch ein bisschen die Augen dafür geöffnet dass Baumabstände <30 Meter sehr gut möglich sind.

Das hier sind die Gehwege entlang einiger von Daejeon's größten Straßen. Soeine richtig gscheite no-nonsense Begrünung wär mal was für Wien.

Garden-table-removal tool now also working.

Probably one of the most important features ever: Undo & Redo.

Now also working with transformations of selected splats. Although it's currently a slightly "lossy" undo because I'm only saving the transformation matrix and result of inverse may not exactly match original.

Nay. The best abstracts imho are the structured abstracts of medical papers, that even include 1-2 sentences clearly and concisely describing the results.

This looks so good! Really looking forward to it. Having a use case where I need very different scales for hybrid desktop and VR GUIs.

Auch dort hätte er rechts von der Straßenbahn verlaufen können. Das ist alles neu gemacht worden, und zwar nicht gut.

Das ist ne Begründung, aber keine gute. Stationen wo Autos durchfahren gibt es zuhauf in Wien und werden immer noch neu gebaut, da schafft man doch auch ne Station wo dann nicht mal Autos sondern nur Radfahrer durchfahren dürfen.
