Honestly, this would be fine. Maybe a dream, even. The majority of what I create (even in my professional work) ends up not being seen by the public, but I still enjoy the process of creating.

Also:

“Once you’ve ruled out the impossible, then whatever is left, however improbable, must be the truth. The problem lay in working out what was impossible, of course. That was the trick, alright.”

Can’t pass up an opportunity for a Discworld quote:

“It wasn't by eliminating the impossible that you got at the truth, however improbable; it was by the much harder process of eliminating the possibilities.”

They put so much care and attention into other aspects of the game, its a shame the voices sound so goofy and off putting

Yo! Any chance you’ll be making your way out west towards Kitchener?

it doesn't get mentioned all that much in books on drawing or comics, but i don't know any technique that's more useful than walking away for an hour

Mothership could also be a good option if you want to lean into the horror side of it more and/or want a more OSR-style system

I picked up The Wildsea recently, and one of my first thoughts was that it could totally be adapted to work as a Scavenger’s Reign type of story/setting

Only issue I’ve found working with parsec is that I can’t use ASIO in my daw

[“Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisoned by the enemy, don’t we consider it his duty to escape? The moneylenders, the know-nothings, the authoritarians have us all in prison; if we value the freedom of the mind and soul, if we’re partisans of liberty, then it’s our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can.”]

Car-dependency is awesome. I love it when the sidewalk that is my only path to get from A to B just becomes something to hold all the snow that was in the road and now I get to choose between trudging through waist-deep snow or walking directly in the 50 kph road

I don’t think I’d call it it “ceremony” (in case you’re looking specifically for formal practices / presentations), but it’s great if you just want to learn the best ways to make tea

Amazing and infuriating how decades of dystopian writers were apparently not on-the-nose enough now that every day I see things like:

“This is the anti-indoctrination bill, which says we can control what children are allowed to think”

It’s such a delight. I can’t think of the last time a game made me grin like a child the way astrobot has consistently done

Elon Musk takes aim at Wikipedia Musk has denounced Wikipedia as "Wokepedia" on X and urged people not to donate to the platform.

I’ve never donated to Wikipedia before but I set up a small monthly donation as a fuck you to the world’s richest psychopath.

Astrobot is such an amazing piece of work in every way. BUT, it drives me insane that there’s no audio settings whatsoever. The mix was made for one context and one context only, and that’s pretty frustrating. Not even simple volume sliders

Yeah! And all the audio work was great. There were so many moments where they let the sound carry the comedy and tell the story
